  • awesome!

  • @klausbreuer2

    tnx

some extra tension in it , i'd say (a few years later...lol) :D

  • I have got to hand it to you my friend,I think you did the song proud! Funny, at the beginning, it looked like you were fooling around, not serious, but boy, you sure made up for that presumption pretty quick! Always been one of my favourite Leo songs, now I'm tuning my 12-string down to open G? and going to learn this, what an inspiration you are! Keep it up!

  • @iaingbrennan

    tnx alot for your appreciation

the intro is almost as the orignal from kottke's 1968 "6n12"

i hardly ever remembr it tho so when giggin' i skip it

  • Bloody excellent my man! Loved the facial expressions too. :P

  • never thought I'd see this one done faster that Leo...but I just did.

  • @wetweasel56

tnx! lol, i'm not sure it's that fast, tho'

  • @wetweasel56

U see, with solid basic tech and having learned a tune well speed shouldn't be a "problem" I never plan to speedup, just letting it go and enjoying the effect. From the tech p.o.w. This tune is mostly about rhythm, groovy rhythm ,and it was so exciting in the 70's to listen to it.Maybe it could b played even faster, even much faster. But would it still retain its quality?I like its impact Then giggin' you "feel" the audience, the moment and if pushing the pedal or not... :)

  • @wetweasel56

    and ...I'm growin old too..eeeh...

  • what is the tuning on this bad boy ? i need to get this one down

  • classic G :DGDgbd, some halfstep lower

    hi, ol' dobroface,

    :)

  • awesome!

  • this is very nice, very few errors for how difficult the song is. i love the 30 second mark.

  • thnx ,

    glad you liked this ...

most o the stuff i uploaded round xmas is a bit messy, i was playing and writing on three different guitars: a new twelwe and a seven string that were not well set causing me some pain xpecially when repeatedly rehearsing... this one clip here indeed shows my disappointment frown and mood....

    "lol"

  • Been a fan of Kottke & Michael Hedges for over 20 years. This was great. Thanks!

  • I love this! great playing

  • Nice! I love Leo Kottke's stuff. Any plans on doing a Michael Hedges piece? Been a fan almost 2 years now. Glad to hear some new stuff from ya!

  • tnx, sky,:) alas no time to put up any new hedges' tunes, i'm afraid...wish i had...

  • A great tune, I'd love to be able to play it.

You sped the video up slightly too much though ;-)

  • tnx

not at all, but i was sure someone would say that

    you get the abstract prize!

    ciao

    gio'

  • i'm in awe... as always

  • That was a perfect rendition. Maybe you have a lighter touch than the early Leo Kottke, but it's not less powerful... and he himself has a much lighter touch now than he used to have.

  • TNX,alas it is born on a twelwe , check the original on this page "related videos"column, that side>> by Leo Kottke himself, obviously and enjoy

we all do have to practice annyway...

    ciao

    gio'

  • I'm an intermediate level guitar player, and now I want to practice a lot more. I really loved this piece. Doing this on a regular 6-string guitar would be hard enough but on a twelve string with a slide, this has to be an incredibly difficult piece.
