I have got to hand it to you my friend,I think you did the song proud! Funny, at the beginning, it looked like you were fooling around, not serious, but boy, you sure made up for that presumption pretty quick! Always been one of my favourite Leo songs, now I'm tuning my 12-string down to open G? and going to learn this, what an inspiration you are! Keep it up!
U see, with solid basic tech and having learned a tune well speed shouldn't be a "problem" I never plan to speedup, just letting it go and enjoying the effect. From the tech p.o.w. This tune is mostly about rhythm, groovy rhythm ,and it was so exciting in the 70's to listen to it.Maybe it could b played even faster, even much faster. But would it still retain its quality?I like its impact Then giggin' you "feel" the audience, the moment and if pushing the pedal or not... :)
most o the stuff i uploaded round xmas is a bit messy, i was playing and writing on three different guitars: a new twelwe and a seven string that were not well set causing me some pain xpecially when repeatedly rehearsing... this one clip here indeed shows my disappointment frown and mood....
That was a perfect rendition. Maybe you have a lighter touch than the early Leo Kottke, but it's not less powerful... and he himself has a much lighter touch now than he used to have.
I'm an intermediate level guitar player, and now I want to practice a lot more. I really loved this piece. Doing this on a regular 6-string guitar would be hard enough but on a twelve string with a slide, this has to be an incredibly difficult piece.
awesome!
