And in 99 and 00 they still would win without clemens, in fact clemens didn't even pitch well with the yankees until 2001. Great video and a great team. I feel the 2004 Boston Red Sox were a better team then the 1998 New York Yankees. If the two had Played, the 2004 Red Sox would have won in a hard fought possibly 7 game series.

Honestly, where I think the dynamic and course of both franchises changed didn't take place in that 4th game of the ALCS, but in that late July game in Boston where Mueller hit the winning home run off Riverra. You remember all the fireworks that game, Varitek and Arod fighting, see saw game, until the end. It was like the Sox that day said no more, its now our turn.

Last I checked unless the Sox start to win some games, they're not making the Wild Card. 6 Games behind TB and NY, so either way, the West (Texas) and Central (MN) are automatically in the Playoffs when they win their division. So that leaves the AL East which so far TB and NY are tied. So if TB wins, NY takes the Wild Card unless they some how go on a slump toward the end of the season which could very well happen. If not, good luck next year.
