Hi to all!

The most usefull aspects that I find on TrackIR are:

- The turn downwind to base and base to final. I can fly paying attention to the gauges and the horizon and quickly check the side view to see when can I make the turn.

- On final some times I go too slow and have to pull the nose but then I can't see the runway, With the TrackIR I always see everything.

Nice, i idint know about this product since i saw another fsx video. It looks really good and would be perfect for me as i do a lot of fsx flying and im always using my keyboard to navigate around the cockpit. That gets annoying when your trying to land a 747 at Princes Juliana when you have to get the landing spot on. I really like the idea of this product and i mite buy one soon. Does anyone know when flight sim 2011 is out? :<)

TrackIR has no real advantage over FaceTrackNoIR and freetrack if you have a good webcam. At least, not enough of an advantage to justify the price.

Logitec G940 is a good complete setup option and the force feedback is awsome. You get a good feel for the aircraft through all points a flight. And in dogfight sims you feel every missile drop off the rail every cannon shell fired and you also feel g forces and wind shear etc. I highly recommend it if your willing to pay the money. Comes with hands on throttle and stick designed around the f15 controls and rudder pedals which are very solid and smooth action.

@j0mp4m4n Honestly, I swear by my x58, i absolutely love it and never have a problem with it. It's around $100 but it's worth it. If you want an entry level joystick, usually you can get a good entry level one for around $50, look at saitek products, they are the best imho and are priced right.

I would be very interested to see what the TrackIR 5 looks like as you use it. As an example, if you turn your head left to simulate looking out of the window, isn't it harder to see your screen. Could you produce a split screen video that shows the sim view and the actual view at the same time?

Move my head 20 degrees and in game it moves 90 degrees...

You never mentioned how it improves spatial awareness once, which is an incredibly important thing.

In a sense, spacial awareness is what makes flying a real aircraft that much easier than MSFS, because you're not looking through tunnel vision.

You also could have mentioned that it makes VFR flight easier, as you can look around window pillars with the trackIR. I'd think this was because you'd fly on instruments, but I'm yet to see an IFR flight from you...

Nice Video, but you did not mention the one disadvantage with TrackIR in FSX: while moving around, you can get out of the cockpit with your virtual head- there are no cockpit-specific moving limitations in FSX!

For some of us without the funds for TrackIR, I have been able to download PS3 controller drivers and use the Left and Right analog sticks to get a nice pan. The only problem is that zooming is difficult and the sticks require one hand. With TrackIR, both hands are free obviously.

Hey Cessna154, Great product, maybe you'd like to know that there's something called freetrack? For those who are on a budget but great product nonetheless... I have a question if u don't mind.... How come my fsx 747-400 (Default) has a 3-5 degress nose up attitude at cruising altitude (say, between 35k and 40k feet) Even with half fuel it does this, any explanation? And do the payware aircraft provide a more realistic flight experience in that regard? Thanks! Btw, great vids!

You had no problem using the joystick and all your ladings and take offs were perfect. But what you did in this video while taking off was look outside and fuck around with the rudder to indicate that it's bad. say your cruising at FL370 and you want to be at 5000 feet at ___ waypoint take 37-5=32 then 32 X 3 = 96

so start your decent arount 96 miles away from ____ waypoint

to make it more accurate keep recalculating every so ofter during the decent.

Remember before he started these reviews, he always used primarily default scenery and aircraft. I wonder just how many payware addons he actually paid for. When reviews are done in this manner, it calls into question their objectivity!

It would be cool if you could provide a little "inset video window" on the bottom right corner that shows you sitting in front of the computer and moving your head parallel to the resulting fsx video, so one could learn what head movements have which effects. I always wondered how much you have to go down with your head to look to the console beneath the yoke.
