At 00:33 he pulls of a REALLY long air combo. How did he keep storm from falling back down? If anyone can guess at the move sequence for Magneto there I would really appreciate it.
Guard Breaking = In Normal Jump you are allowed 1 action (Aside from air dash, fly, teleport). You can either attack or block. By forcing an opponent to block early, you cause them to free fall after blocking and they can no longer block again until they land. THAT'S Guard breaking. It is not an "example", it is THE definition. You will never hear anyone say "Hey Cable's on the ground now. Guard break him." That's a stupid gesture like saying "Hey Cable's in the air now, go for an overhead."
thanks zapikachu and stickyresin. i understood it completely. i've actually seen a match between wong and a guy named carlos who turns cable into gold with his guard breaks and cancels. i mean wong's sentinel gets KOed and out comes storm. cable pulls out a jumping HP, forcing storm to block it. then cable lands and tiger knee's an AHVB, making storm pay gravely. thanks for the tips, you two.

Guard breaking is mixing up attacks that can't be blocked low with attacks that can't be blocked high to break through the guard.
A basic example is jumping in with a late attack and then immediately doing a crouching short when you land. The jump attack would hit someone crouch blocking while the down+short would hit someone guarding standing up.
Of course the above example rarely works as it is now instinctual for any decent player to block low after an opponent jumps in with an attack.
@stickyresin Umm no. What you are describing is the concept of rushdown and low and high mixups. Guard breaks are a technique in what I describe int he comment above. I don't know whether you are trolling or confused but you are wrong. Perhaps you got confused with CVS2 Guard Crush or something. idk. High low mixups aren't guard breaking.
During a Normal Jump, you are allowed only one Acton (Aside from an Air Dash, Fly, or Teleport from what I know.). So you can either attack or block. Characters that can do a delayed hit after an initial one such as Cable's Jumping HP gunshot then jumping again to shoot another time. Or Magneto where he Super jumps up then waits for the second delay then air dash down to catch them on the way down for a juggle/rejump.
Some characters can simply jump forward with good horizontal attack and when they land they'll be nearly under them for a launch or juggle. Ironman is a very easy example of this. It's not hard just go to training mode and snap out characters and practice.
@mkhin3: Dude, you're a fag for calling him a fag. Why would you do that when he's simply breaking down what the stuff is? Besides stickyresin, zapikachu knows more than anyone else here that is commenting on this video. There's a difference between guard break and rushdown. That's what he was simply explaining.
Actually the definition is a bit more general than what i said in my last post.
Another example would be where you relentlessly attack a guarding opponent hoping that they try to counter attack at some point to stop you only to be hit by the next hit. You can usually keep this up for quite some time with late jump in hits.
It's considered an art because there is no gaurantee your opponent will fall for these things, and if their timing is better than yours then you'l get hit eventually
@stickyresin Actually your definition was wrong... Relentlessly attacking someone STILL isn't guardbreaking. That's a pressure string mixed in with Rushdown. For example Magneto who calls out Drones or Whirlwind assist and does Trijumps mixed in with Low C.Lks. Breaking a character's guard deals with normal jump. It has nothing to do with blocking correctly on the ground. If you read my comment above on what you're allowed to do in Normal Jump, then you will understand.
It would also include the example where you hit a guy coming on screen (like after one of your guys die), but while he is still offscreen, while he is guarding. Due to a bug the second hit you do will hit no matter what.
