I killed a jet with a TV guided, it actually isn't that hard. They always fly straight at you trying to take you out so you just send a TV guided straight back in their direction :)

For tanks, hit the the ground just infront of it or if ur got time get a on-top kill to get it in his ass. And for helis I always aim for the middle where the missiles are, cause u can easily hit the back and it seems like a great hitbox there as far as I've noticed!

With the TV missile, what you see is NOT what you get. The missile hits just after the fuzz. It is hard to explain but the missile is 20 meters behind the camera view.

Just so you know the first shot hit the rear of the turret, the second weakest section of an Abrams. The second shot hit the forward plating of the turret (well according to the frame it actually hit the co-ax but you know the hit box is the same). So the first shot was a good hit, the second wouldn't have done alot if he wasn't already heavily damaged. :)
