I find it disturbing that no one else found this remotely disturbing that a three year old would say that. . .while it does have cute qualities, I think it's an ode to the acceptance that is ruining the world!
People wonder why the world is amuck. There is a simple answer for all of it. Bad parenting. That also encompasses lazy parenting, weak parenting, trashy parenting, immoral parenting, and loose moral parenting. This would fall right under loose morals. A word is just a word. It's people like you who teach your children to connect shame and guilt to words who are the real problem .. you are probably the planets primary source of hate and segregation.
Furthermore there isn't a single word in the bible saying that you can't use whatever language is perceived as bad at the moment. And saying 'ass' isn't taking the lords name in vain as far as I know..
I would have to say that most words already come connected to certain feelings. The very word "hate" is harsh and usually connected with intense dislike. Children ONLY repeat profanity they have heard from adults. And by the very use of the words, adults are normally conveying anger, hate, or something negative. People use cuss words to accentuate negative feelings. So I don't think "people like me" teach kids to connect the words to negativity. I think it's automatic in their meaning!
So an ass is automatically a negative thing? And here i thought it was a part of your body. Hate is connected to hate because it is the word we use to describe that emotion. An ass/butt is only negative because you make it out to be. Even more disturbing is that by placing blame on the words you're removing human intent from the equation as if we have no control over our actions.
But don't you see, the only reason I equate the word "ass" to be negative is that's what I was taught by not individuals, but by society as a whole, it is wholly looked on as a negative thing. It just says a disturbing lot about society if we've come so far to acceptance of everything that NOBODY balks when a baby swears! But that is my opinion, I'll just agree to disagree with you and bow out of this debate. In the end, I find the REACTION to this video disturbing, more than the actual vid.
Nope sorry it's just you .. everyone else in here understands that the words don't matter only the intent behind them. A child using offensive emotions to conquer her fear over the monster in the closet is the normal way to do it and it doesn't have any correlation what so ever as to why bad things happen in the world. You rationalize the fear and hate you direct at the "bad parents" so you can regurgitate explanations for things you don't understand. YOU are the source of the darkness here!
