go around and steal 7 other peoples bikes and take it.
Now worries about an angry owner showing up to kick your time wasting ass. "Is this your bike?" "yea fuck off"" see how easy that was?
people go crazy when they catch a bike thief on there own bike. be funny if someone grabbed his bike first, it was a crap bike tho. No one would steal something they can not sell.
ohh... lol damn that sucks, they always have some cool trails and jumps that always have a private property sign by them it pisses me off but it doesnt stop me haha, i take my dirtbike behind there and there was another one that was chained off with these big ass jumps i couldnt get into that one haha
and the part that pisses me off is that nothing will happen if i get caught, there are no signs on the gate of private propertey or no trespassing theres only one that says no dumping which probably means its public ahh!!!
Audacity is the game here, I don't think anyone could believe that someone would theif it that "slow" or that open.
Also there is a bike bottle on there... how many people leave their bottle? It looks like he has returned, put his bottle back, and then tried to crack it.
Still, it's funny how people "ignore it".

Fuck you. Bike thieves should die in a large, hot fire. What gives you the right to steal from someone else you worthless waste-of-fucking skin? Your mother should have a retroactive abortion. Fuck you.
Yeah. It's a good thing, then, that thieves typically are big black guys wearing t-shirts that read, "Nigga on Crack!" and shout, "I'm stealing this fucking bike!" as they steal bicycles. People were looking at this guy and felt uninterested in even calling the police. Grade "A" citizenry.
You guys who are saying "yeah, That's not Stealing" are idiots.
Really? C'mon are you that dense? Of course it;s not stealing if you're doing it to your own bike, but how do thoes people know it's not your bike? I can't believe this. Everyone who have recorded themselves and published here on youtube and steal a bike, it's obviously staged, but they only do cut tiny or thin chains. Actual chains that I wouldn't lock my bike with in real life. Why dont they demonstrate how to steal a bike with a kryptonite lock vs. boltcutter.

lol there's no way a bmx will cost more than a mountain bike, no matter how "rare" the instance is...if you compare highest end model and parts for both, it's just impossible...
I must admit and I would have to see him live to back this up, that he appears to be doing nothing wrong. This is because he is not. He does not know how to fake the signs of guilt a casual bike thief may display.
If i saw him doing this and asked him why he was stealing the bike just to get his reaction and he said "It's mine, I lost the key to this fucking lock" what could one do anyway?
So what's the point here? portlanders mind their own business, unless they perceive someone as needing help. This guy is so obvious about cutting the chain that you'd have to assume it's his bike. This is typical WW shit-starting--trying to make an issue where there isn't one.
This is an important social document. And you know what's even more revealing than the video? The mitigating excuses that people make in their self-justifying comments about it.
You should do this again and look around a lot like an actual nervous person who doesn't know who's bike they are stealing & could come up at any time. see what reactions you get then...
Who the fuck is going to risk getting beaten down with a bike chain to stop someone from stealing someone else's bike? Just like a lot of stores are teaching employees "don't mess with shoplifters or they'll shoot you. Just get video and give it to the cops".
What I want to know is how many people filmed him.
On the other hand, I have, in a jar, the left testicle of a guy who tried to steal MY bike. (just kidding. well, MAYBE not)
If ANYBODY comes across a guy trying to break a lock there is something you can do to test if its his bike.
Walk up to him and with an angry face and tone hell, WTF are you doing. Trying to STEAL MY BIKE. If he claims its his bike say STFU you theif and say your phoning the police and then pull out your phone. At this point a real theif will run away (or kill you heh)
I'd rather live there and the worst I usually have to worry about is my bike getting stolen versus other places where you worry about mugging, rape, assault, murder, etc...
Yes, I saw the Same video from NY. Anyway who uses a BIG Chain anyway? was that so you could do it 7x? Boring and the music? Get some 50cent, um be creative.
Whats funny is, I had something like this happen to me. Had a so-so mountainbike chained to a light post in downtown portland. Had this nifty braided titanium string lock holding it up. Was hanging out with my friend in her store and we see someone trying to steal it. I actually went out and talked to him as he is failing to cut through the lock. It was rather amusing, and the part where I told him it was my bike and he ran around the corner into the local street patrol cop was even funnier.
One of my best friend's is Rick Grad (in the video)... the ONLY one that stopped the guy and asked him if it was his bike... he then helps to break the chain free... hilarious!! I love this video ;^)
Omg the guy even helped him stell it. So if you act calm and like it's your own bike they probly won't bother you. I bet if you try to do that in toronto you'll get jumped and arrested jsut for looking at the bike ^_^
Before the dude gets to the bike theres a black man who walks pass the bike on his cell phone (you see him for a split second) at 2mins.. Then 35secs later you see him walk by again on his cell.. I bet he was saying "Dis white cracka is jackin mah ride yo"
2) The guy is waaay to calm to be a thief of any kind. Ever seen a shoplifter? They're ALWAYS looking around, and that in itself usually gets them caught.
The actual lesson to learned here is to act calm, even if you really are stealing something.
So how do we know this was actually done 7 times with a 100% success rate? Maybe they filmed 20 of these and only got away with 7? There's no audio... it would have been extremely simple to have Josh wear a mic and that might have made it a little more believable.
well if you went/worked at PSU like i do and knew the lame things people call in, this would be surprising considering the amount of bike thefts we have in a month.
Eh. Pretty lame expose. The whole point proved here is that if you don't act suspicious, you can get away with anything. That's not some new revelation or anything.
Seen this kind of thing before, not that suprising anymore. Now, if that were a car, maybe...you'd get people calling the police or trying to stop you...maybe? Who cares about a bike, and how is someone going to prove it's not your bike and you didn't just loose the key. That's why you take the seat/tire off you bike when you lock it up.
Funny video.

One of my best friend's is Rick Grad (in the video)... the ONLY one that stopped the guy and asked him if it was his bike... he then helps to break the chain free... hilarious!! I love this video ;^)

Get a minority to do it, watch some Redneck come out of nowhere and shoot him.

Two MAJOR problems with this "experiment"...
1) Bike appears to be a POS (not worth stealing)

I saw a kid getting kicked in his face on the sidewalk a couple of weeks ago, while his friends stood there and watched.
And you think some stranger is going to save your bike from being stolen?

Seen this kind of thing before, not that suprising anymore. Now, if that were a car, maybe...you'd get people calling the police or trying to stop you...maybe? Who cares about a bike, and how is someone going to prove it's not your bike and you didn't just loose the key. That's why you take the seat/tire off you bike when you lock it up.
