Met Jon Stevens and another band member when No Lies came out as single at Sunflower Records in Brisbane - a girlfirend and I were on our way to work and they sang No Lies to us! But Jon sang it as:

"Blow Flies, Blow Flies

Shoo them away, I say!"

It was hilarious!! Jon was very down to earth, absolutely gorgeous and had one of the best singing voices I've ever heard!

Yes I am French as well, for some reason they had a minor success in France. Their tunes played in rotation on a Parisian indie station after one of their DJs saw them in Australia. I remember seeing them in Paris in concert, it was a really good concert, they enjoyed their time.

Absolutely love this song and this band. They performed at Darwin River Rocks several times during 80's and 90's. Before the plain clothes copper brigade F@#*ED everyone's fun by not allowing Darwin River Rock to continue. Such a pity. They reckoned it was just an elaborate excercise in money laundering by the local bikers. What rot. Noiseworks is one the few brilliant aussie bands who actually came up here to Darwin to perform. Love em. Carrie. RIP Darwin River Rocks.

I met Steve Balbi once, i was working in a cafe in Waverton and he and his friend came in. Being a big Noiseworks fan i was like 'fucking wow', real happy to meet him and i said hi (etc) and he was a real nice guy and very friendly. I asked him why Noiseworks broke up and he said "Well.........drugs! ..hahaha" . Meeting him really made my week, good memory.

Do Re Mi were playing & the lads from Noiseworks were there at the gig just having beers , i said to Steve " what the fuck r u doin here, no gig 2nite " he luv'd it & coz i was 13 when i started bass i was chattin to him about bass stuff he loved it coz i was so young & i recognised him & played bass like him :)
