  • Gods also had multiple wives? Some of them had inter marital affairs? They killed each other etc etc.. What gods do necessarily doesn't become right. My respect for the chef was so much higher until he justified being a non-vegetarian. Ridiculous!

  • People, just respect other people's food choices. Being vegetarian or non vegetarian does not make you superior in any way. At the end of the day, plants and animals were put here for a reason. So eat what you feel you are comfortable with and if you don't like what others are eating, keep your comments to yourself.

  • @ndufcat:

I believe that eating meat is "natural" for humans. However, that doesn't mean that it is necessarily ethical. Being vegetarian IS an expression of ethics when you consider how meat is produced in the modern meat industry. The animals that produce meat these days live miserable, horrible lives in tiny cages until the day they are slaughtered. I have nothing against going out and hunting wild game, but I find it ethically disturbing to eat meat prepared in the modern industry.

  • i really like your recipes, but keep your talk only preparing food. I don't know which god you are reffering? allah? jesus? mahaveer? buddha? krishana? or 3 crore indian gods? .............. I am a brahmin and I don't believe in god and what should I follow? I ate meat during college days and turned vegetarian very soon as i felt bad eating meat killing an animal. Again, it is my option to become veggie. I don't talk to people and convene them to turn vegetarian.

  • what ??? you r not guilty of eating meat ??? You are killing an animal to satisfy your taste buds.. that is CRUEL... why don't you kill your relative and cook in the frying pan add masala and eat. because they r humans...?? but u can do that with an animal. anyway i never stop anyone from eating meat. but it would be good if you stop telling others that it's ok to eat meat.

  • @sweetythebest Why don't you people shut up and study more about the food chain!! We are not hannibals that we have to eat our relatives!! Go blame the tiger or lion for eating 'innocent' animals!! And trust me, here is NO substitute for animal protein even if you survive on soya for the rest of your life!!

  • @rimzim89 I can only pity u for your ignorance. May be u want to go and get ur intestines checked which r full of worms and parasaites... anyway.. i don't care. I don't care about any meat eater. it's their wish. I only said, don't say there's nothing wrong in eating meat just because u eat. We DO find many things wrong with it. I would rather survive on soya and manyyyyyyyy other vegetables & fruits for my proteins than killing innocent animals for animal proteins.

  • "There's nothing wrong with eating meat..." ? Research has shown that ALL meat eaters have worms and a high incidence of parasites in their intestines. That's just one of many things that are wrong with eating meat or dead flesh (cadaver).

  • when your father said Pet Ka Puja,he obviously did not mean that..so please go back to your dad and ask for the meaning again

  • he is so stupid

  • omg. it has written in the scrpitres that god hunted anumal for food. Please stay on your kitchen cause that is you specialty, Dont talk about things you dont know. And dont try to find a excuse so that you can meat. you do well in the kitchen please stay there. You are forcing people to say you are a brainless chef.

  • I love VAH CHEF! Absolutely amazing guy!

About, vegetarianism however, i agree, no one should make you feel guilty about eating meat. However I do not think that the arguments that the God ate it, so I can is justified. To kill to eat is an argument. However in this mass producing society eating meat means that you fuel a cruel market - which also contributes to the enviromental problems we face today. More harmful gases are released from mass produced animals than car fumes.

  • Yr food looks good ..bt want to add smthig when you do Pooja you shld not be distracted either it is a food or smthing else and what ever has been served in a Mandir you should accept with both arms open instead of saying why they are not serving meat or fruits wht so ever..normally in most of the temple they do not serve meat coz killing animal is against their rules but in few Temples you will see that they do Balli to make God happy SO just accept the way it is instead of doing any arguments.

  • You made an important observation - that the person getting revenue for the temple - the cook - must be honored. That is very true. I totally agree with you. The temple must do it.

  • I love your recipe & your way of sharing the steps to prepare.

I thank you for it. But you must confine to teaching how to prepare food, don't talk about whether one should / can eat meat or not. You have no knowledge of the scriptures and you don't have complete information. If you don't follow this friendly tip, you will be laughed at by people who won't write to you frankly and sincerely as I do. But I do appreciate your view points; just that don't judge or decide. Thanks, Sanjay.

  • Channa Dal, Ura Dal? Is that what your saying? Could you tell me what it is? Also can you cook with riped mango? Just wondering. I love watching your videos VahChef and your inspirations.

I suggest you keep to what you are good at - cooking and resist the temptation to preach.

  • Chef...i just tried out mango rice just like how you have told in the recipe...its AWESOME!!!!!!!!! thank s a ton for it!!

only variation was i added more salt and red chillies than what you added, to lessen the tangy taste of mango...Luv ur site and you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Phir se namaste Sanjay ji.

Kya Haal Hai sona kuda?! As always you know how I love your dishes. Quick question...your mango looks peeled...is it?

I had always heard the skin is poisonous but I viewed another older gentleman's recipe and he says NOT to peel it. Kripya verify about whether the peel is edible? Dhanyavaad for being such an informative and talented chef and for sharing with the rest of us!!

    Much Pyar & hanste raho!!

  • can you show us how to make poori batura please...

& your food i love india foods.

    spicey... i like... :-)

  • you remind me all my memories

  • By the way Chef, don't take any offense to the previous comment. I was simply adding another perspective and another viewer became defensive and presumptuous. I love watching your videos and all the recipes you share with us. Keep up the great work.

  • Yes, it is true that people who eat meat are just as spiritual as vegetarians...however that is not the only reason we do not eat meat. Some of us actually think about the fact that a creature had to go through pain for a human's pleasure. I do not judge anyone who eats meat as it is a personal choice, but for me, I cannot ignore this fact. As they say, "just food for thought..."

  • you know what is very intresting , i happend to attend a vegan meeting and they are saying drinking cows milk is like stealing mothers milk away from the baby , they think Indian vegeterainism is bogus and fasle ,and they say consuming honey is like taking home of bees and making them home less , Dimanshu do you agree with this ,just food for thought - how we convience ourselves that we are better than other

the thought of thinking that we are better than others is a bigger sin

  • You can say whatever you want... I clearly wrote that I do not judge others for their dietary preferences. I was simply pointing out the fact that vegetarianism is not about purity for all people, but about cruelty. If you've ever seen an animal slaughtered, you might understand this. Maybe you should listen a little more and assume a little less! I myself judge a person's "purity" not by what they consume but by the acts that they do.

  • @dhimanshu Totally agree man. That's the whole idea behind Halal meat. They can still kill an animal and eat it, as long as it's done in a humane way (obviousley you know, this is just for ppl who don't :P)

  • I don't think you should feel the need to be so apologetic when you're taking the moral high ground.

  • Agreed.

I'm a vegan of 4 years. It's opened my eyes quite a bit to the learnings of pacifism. Also, I agree that everybody has the right to do as they wish. "to each his own" I'm not the one to judge you, nor do I believe I'm better than anyone.

  • I love your enthusiasm. You are inspirational!

  • instead of raw mango for a different variation use pineapple. plz show d recipe of butter chicken plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • "God sends meat, the Devil sends cooks!"

    OH! Sanjay,

    Just joking!!

couple years ago I bought 3 raw mangoes. I used 2 and 1 was in my refrigerator for long time and it just wasted.

I wish I had this recipe than. :(
