I was actually a bit disappointed to see that he was dating before deciding to search for Lyla. Don't get me wrong, I know it 's unreasonable of me to expect him to remain single for Lyla when he has only spent one night with her and he has no way of knowing where she is now. But nevertheless,I really want this scene to be included because I want to see him break up with his girlfriend and follow his heart to search for his true love.
i thought she was quite a bitch in the movie, but this scene really makes her seem more like a person. still, the reason behind their relationship and breakup is kind of flaky, but eh... it's a fairy tale ;)

I think she was the one who wooed Louis initially, because she seems like the dominant type. I think the "it's about time I met your family" part would infer that they'd been together for a mildly long time (at least), and the fact that Nick knows about their relationship after they hadn't seen each other in a while kind of also tells us that they've been together for a while. I dunno really. It'd be interesting to know how much Louis actually cared for her. (and why'd she take his car?) x)

I don't think Louis really loved her, because as we can see, he hasn't forgotten Lyla all these years.What he felt towards Jennifer is merely regrets for hurting her.Louis was depressed after losing Lyla but he seems fine even after breaking up with Jennifer,so perhaps that tells us how much he 'loves' her. And that probably wasn't Louis 's car, he drove HER car to the party with her, perhaps.

interestingly, This Time's lyrics seem to be more about the mature Louis, who's looking back into his past... I just think if you relate the party scene and the lyrics during that scene... I think you can actually imagine Louis thinking those things when he gets out of the car and all these memories started swirling back.
