Same project. Been working on gopro on a eflite 450 3D but this is a better, more stable platform. Sponge block and Velcro? Hum? I guess you need the loft of this to keep the video clear of the AR Drone..Will mounting from below work or does that screw things up?

@xXlifeannihilaterXx i asume.. its for the HD footage that the Go Pro produces.. the inbuilt camera is only 640 x 480 15fps CMOS camera. and the software to record from it does not produce the best quality.
so i guess there was 0 wind at the beach? you should try to do that more but take more video of the beach area and see how high u can go in flight record and put you number how high you went up so far i just went up 29ft up so far that like 8 meter so far check out my ar drone video
Greetings - brilliant idea. Any chance of another video? How about a tutorial video - that would be appreciated by many. What resolution did you use - your videos are just awesone! Well done!
I'm working on this too. :) Great minds think alike? Are you using the hacked version with the RC control? If not...let me know and I'll send a link....it is reportedly ~MUCH~ better and doesn't have the same distance limitations. :) Thanks for posting!
looks great, second video I've seen with usable gopro footage (no drone in the shot). Im surprised it flies so stable with that much weight at the top. Im working on a similar idea but mounting underneath. Thanks!
What I dont get is, youve raised a pretty good weight high...havent you altered the center of gravity, making the unit unstable?

Phenomenal video! really impressed that this is a stock version. Did you have the altitude limiter off?
