I had accidentaly put a speaker magnet next to my laptop when this blue screen came up. Any suggestion how to get another bootup XP to see what is the extent of the damage to the hard drive?
I have two of those three products. They work fine if nothing is wrong with the drive. But if anything, and I mean anything, isn't right with the drive they don't work at all. So don't think these things are going to recover lost files. They will only allow you to get data from good working drives.
@whiskeyify Well that has not been the case for me on a number of drives.
I have drives going back almost twenty years. I gave away the old ten meg scsi drive that was twenty years old. It still worked but sounded like a fire engine when it started up. The only drives I have that don't work are the ones that failed as soon as the warranty was over. All sata drive.
@sanity599 I have a pile of old drives too, used to work in a repair shop. I still use them, even the small ones you can attach as a slave drive and use them to back up your files.
my pc have a destroyed hard disc with all the drivers... we barely gets in to the pc but we need to open the folders with all drivers in... but the pc wont let us open the map with all the drivers. we need the drivers or else the mousepad, usb input, mic, volum shit and much more will not work when we switch hard disc. plz answer if you had this problem or know how to fix it. the hard drive is destroyed and i just bought a wow game-card. i dont want it go waste
what if the hdd from the old pc had a password like my laptop did now i cant view the files because it says i dont own them any ideas how to get around that oh and i cant boot that drive it says that its missing files

@sanity59 I think sometimes windows won't start...but my taking the drive out and connecting to an adapter like this you can access it.
