You are a good man and I appreciate your service as a firefighter. The previous comment by wellington is correct, yellow jackets stingers remain win their body. Please check with your local pest control extension services through the agricultural department to verify and you will find he is correct. Thanks that is the only reason I gave thumbs down.
As an exterminator, I can tell all of ya out there that ONLY honeybees lose their stinger...Wasps, yellow jackets, and hornets keep their stinger and can and do sting repeatedly. They can also shoot venom in your eyes when attacking you, and that is why I always wear safety goggles when on wasp, yellow jacket and hornet removal. The only thing that ive found that works on bee/wasp/yellow jacket/hornet stings is meat tenderizer mixed into a paste with a little water. It neutralises the venom.
Dad got stung on the lip when he was mowing the lawn in college. I got stung on the foot by a yellow jacket and boy was it PAINFUL. My grandmother is allergic to yellow jacket stings, but luckily we've got a syringe with some material that will help her get treatment from an allergic reaction.
i got stung a few hours ago rite after i won my soccer game and my hand swelled very bad and my arm went numb and it stung so badly and that was my first ever sting by a bee like insect and i sure don't want a second one lol
I just got stung 10 min ago on my chest. I never had much of a reaction to stings (pain), but I get a rolling sweat for a few seconds and a swelling around the sting area. Its about gone now.
i just got stung by a yellow jack that had a hive under my out side chair it stung me in my love handle area and it went from a tiny dots to a quarter coin sized round spot it still hurts after -_- i dont know if im light headed cuse i just woke up ...........
.... yellow jackets are a type of wasp and they do not loose their stinger after stinging you lol! worker honeybees loose their stinger b/c it is barbed, and a yellow jackets is smooth allowing multiple stings.... he's nervous b/c he has no idea what he is talking about.
I'm supposed to use it when I have trouble breathing and experience numbness and swelling in my throat.
I'm also allergic to a certain type of ink, which is why I got the Epi-pen in the first place. My reaction to the ink was so severe my throat swelled closed and I stopped breathing.
It took 3 days for my throat to feel normal again.
This is a honeybee video not a yellow jacket vid. Change that and it'll be correct.

None of it would work for me anyway.
I have to give myself a shot from an Epi-pen, then call 911.
My doctor told me so. He said to call 911 after I use the pen, b/c my heart rate has to be monitored.

problems with this video
1. wasps do not leave there sting thats why they can sting you more than once.
2. you make it so complicated just apply vinegar and the pains gone. baking soda is for bees not wasps.

I get really sick when I get stung by bees, even after I take Benadryl.
I don't care what bees are good for, I can't stand them b/c their sting makes me so sick.
