Yes macs are more expensive... But the software and hardware is much better. The reason macs are expensive is because they can't get as many viruses as the PC can.. Like pcs are completely exposed to viruses unless you have some 100 dollar anti virus.it Costs like 100 dollars PLUS bandwidth cost. Mac doesn't need a virus protector. Pcs are easier to use but they have more bugs and viruses. Macs are better for virus protection. I grew up using a PC but I would like to start on a Mac. The battle

@all what i see here is a guy paid damn near $2000 for a 15 inch screen with 500gb harddrive that only spins at 5400rpm.. not even 7200 or 10,000. and not even solid state?? have to pay extra for apple care??? y do u need that if the machine runs perfectly forever after u buy it? storage space matters and i see no point in a laptop with lest than 1 tb of space. waste of money and brag about it.. everyone advertises their product as the hottest thing ever.. @H4x0r18 i want that power because rather than spend 1200 on a not so powerfull laptop i could spend 900 and go over the top a litt.e if I really wanted somethign as powerfull as the macbook I would only spend about 600$ or even less depending on what deals I can get.
Software is what makes each one faster than the other the computers themself are identical therefore they should be worth the same. and if i installed linux it would be fastest, macsecond, windows 3rd.
@megamindstorm101 I just prefer a Mac cause I can install all platforms on one machine. And if I need Windows or Linux, I can just install them on a spare desktop computer, boot camp, or virtual machine. Got more to work with than just a PC. Hardware is cheaper with a PC, I have nothing against PC. I have one myself. I just think its great to have all operating systems to work with, instead of fighting or arguing whats best. And yes Macs are expensive, but you pay for great design and quality.

If I want a computer for windows and mac but I want to use the windows for gaming (instead of buying a seprate computer) why cant I put whatever video card Iwant in it? why should i have to get some random special one or look for one compatible with a mac. the reason microsoft is more sucessful is because their os is avaiable for anyone even apple users.
@megamindstorm101 because that way u get to charge double for the same piece of hardware that's literally the standard version that's been tinkered with so that it wont work on a windows machine. like i said it before, mac users get raped by steve jobs marketting. takes a regular harddrive, formats it to mac special filesystem slaps a apple logo on it and there... $400 for a 2tb harddrive. pc has met up to mac stability and power... studios going pc now cuz it gets same results and is cheaper.

@H4x0r18@H4x0r18 the psu is a bit over the top if it were me i would have gotten an 850 or 1000w but i got that 1200 for free (which unfortunately cant happen in the mac world ( getting seprate parts for free)). the cpu i got an insane deal on so i was like wth just get a quad core :) the mobo is garbage but I will be getting a new one later (came with the cpu), i have 2tb of hdd cause its cheap when i got it, the case is nice i got it for the looks more than the inside which is still good.

I also forgot to mention when video games were in the merge from 2D into 3D. that right there was fucking amazing. When the playstation was first announced people were going nuts, then nintendo start advertising the N64 (which IMO is a wayyy better console). Around that time SEGA released the Dreamcast (which is one of the best fucking systems ever (for it's time)). Now you get to enjoy the XBOX and PS2/3 moments, which are awesome on their own.
Well, I guess the most important things are Nintendo (85), the SEGA genesis, old school hanna barbera cartoons being on cartoon network. The swiss family robinson tree house at disneyland (which is still in disneyworld florida, but lacks the LA original feel), the people mover, star wars before george lucas and steven spielberg ass raped it like they did indiana jones, annd MTV before cooporate america buttfucked it and removed the music from it. @ShamieWoW its funny cause i agree with darkimperialism and I CAN afford one :P but instead I prefer my i7, 6gb 1600mhz, 6870, 1200w, soon to be usb 3 due to the incredible ease of upgrades on my PC all for 900$ but you know
only reason i have this is because IM SO JEALOUS OF MAC! right?

@H4x0r18 i want that power because rather than spend 1200 on a not so powerfull laptop i could spend 900 and go over the top a litt.e if I really wanted somethign as powerfull as the macbook I would only spend about 600$ or even less depending on what deals I can get.
Software is what makes each one faster than the other the computers themself are identical therefore they should be worth the same. and if i installed linux it would be fastest, macsecond, windows 3rd.

@megamindstorm101 I just prefer a Mac cause I can install all platforms on one machine. And if I need Windows or Linux, I can just install them on a spare desktop computer, boot camp, or virtual machine. Got more to work with than just a PC. Hardware is cheaper with a PC, I have nothing against PC. I have one myself. I just think its great to have all operating systems to work with, instead of fighting or arguing whats best. And yes Macs are expensive, but you pay for great design and quality.

@H4x0r18 I like the idea of all OSs on one machine but I think apple would be much more sucessfull if they opened up a little more. If I want a computer for windows and mac but I want to use the windows for gaming (instead of buying a seprate computer) why cant I put whatever video card Iwant in it? why should i have to get some random special one or look for one compatible with a mac. the reason microsoft is more sucessful is because their os is avaiable for anyone even apple users.

@megamindstorm101 because that way u get to charge double for the same piece of hardware that's literally the standard version that's been tinkered with so that it wont work on a windows machine. like i said it before, mac users get raped by steve jobs marketting. takes a regular harddrive, formats it to mac special filesystem slaps a apple logo on it and there... $400 for a 2tb harddrive. pc has met up to mac stability and power... studios going pc now cuz it gets same results and is cheaper.

@H4x0r18 @H4x0r18 the psu is a bit over the top if it were me i would have gotten an 850 or 1000w but i got that 1200 for free (which unfortunately cant happen in the mac world ( getting seprate parts for free)). the cpu i got an insane deal on so i was like wth just get a quad core :) the mobo is garbage but I will be getting a new one later (came with the cpu), i have 2tb of hdd cause its cheap when i got it, the case is nice i got it for the looks more than the inside which is still good.

@ShamieWoW whats funny is i was just commenting how I could afford one and like 3 other people commented telling me who knows what. all I was saying is that I can afford one but I prefer a more power system at least now in my life. I cant afford 20 computers and since i have to pick 1 i would pick a pc for gaming, and cpu intensive tasks, rather than pay 1200$ on a macbook pro which wont be able to do what I want. honestly i think i would consider it if it was 700-800$ but 1200 no way.

@jimbawb23 dude i was just commenting how the guy said "only reason your saying that is because you cant afford it" i was just saying "i can afford it and i still dont have it" sure a macbook pro would be great (and btw I use macs every day so dont say its cause I dont use them) its just overpriced imo. if i have 1200$ i would rather build a gaming rig. if i want a powerfully laptop i could just get an i7 powered hp or sony laptop which would still be cheaper than apple.

@OMGelectronics hi, i m wanting to buy a new macbook pro and i m waiting till the new ones come out this year. i have never used a mac so idk the difference between mac os and windows, but do you think the macbook pros are worth the extra money we spend on them? should i go for a pc window laptop or a macbook pro? ps- i will be using my laptop for playing mediocre games and for university studies etc

i already have the 13.3 macbook pro, i put it on craigslist to see if anyone would buy it for even prioce and i got an offer for 1150 which is pretty good deal considering i payed 1200 for it.
im REALLY debating whether i should actually sell it and get the 15. it seems so much better in terms of specs , the i5, GPU etc plus the bigger screen real estate.
i dont do anything app intensive, jsut want a better laptop lol, what do u think?

I also forgot to mention when video games were in the merge from 2D into 3D. that right there was fucking amazing. When the playstation was first announced people were going nuts, then nintendo start advertising the N64 (which IMO is a wayyy better console). Around that time SEGA released the Dreamcast (which is one of the best fucking systems ever (for it's time)). Now you get to enjoy the XBOX and PS2/3 moments, which are awesome on their own.

Well, I guess the most important things are Nintendo (85), the SEGA genesis, old school hanna barbera cartoons being on cartoon network. The swiss family robinson tree house at disneyland (which is still in disneyworld florida, but lacks the LA original feel), the people mover, star wars before george lucas and steven spielberg ass raped it like they did indiana jones, annd MTV before cooporate america buttfucked it and removed the music from it. Now we just have jearsy shore (wtf). Respect*

That's easy, you're bad at explaining things. Of the 3 kids I watched all I hear is ums and uhs because they can't articulate what they want to say or they try and be funny. I get you're just practicing, whatever, it's fine, but I'm not getting any of the other information an adult techie would've thrown in.
Where are the tech specs? How much RAM comes stock? How much can it upgrade too? Demensions? I mean let's say I didn't want to go on apple and I'm taking your word, what solidified.
