It's a particular art style, one the creator might have created himself. I think it is a rather interesting machinima, showing machinima can be more than just people in games cracking jokes.

Um, I don't wanna give it a 1 star rating before watching the whole thing, and I could only stand 4 minutes.

I don't think it's all that bad, but I see what you're saying. I do get rather tired of these typical animated shorts, where they just try to be as different or weird as possible just for the sake of appearing to be creative.  And a lot of them, like this one, use this totally cliched theme involving one character trying to break away from conformity, accompanied by crappy, overly dramatic music (which is also going for "creativity points").

okay what is its point? some1 wanting to escape an over developed world? is the fact that the crap matchstick men are black supposed to mean something. Why don't the snooty ppl who define what real art is hail south park or something. oh the creators are simply the wrong types from the wrong background i assume. Aristocratic anti-socialite graduate paints a random squiggle and it is allowed to make them even richer, being pushed as modern art!
