Depends of the maker... cheap ones at less than 500$ (but not very good ones) students lutes around 1500-2000, concerts lutes above 3000...

Look for lute society on the net and then look for links to makers.

Wow This is super! I am from Serbia and i'm interested in playing lute... so can you give me some tips about buying instrument? Well im have some notation of Tourdion for Classical Guitar, it is work of Serbian great classical guitarist Dr. Jovan Jovicic ( Segovia's Student), but it's just his interpretation of this song...

About buying instrument, depends if you want a cheap (but not so good) instrument try EMS lute on E-bay. If you're looking for a good one, try googling Lute Society to find links to makers, or used instruments for sale. On Wayne Cripps lute page you'll find many useful tips and links to music and so...

Lute is tuned before playing, if needed, but mordern strings stay in tune better than gut ones.

This is a lute with chanterelle in A (440)

Pitch was relative in early music, from 392 to 460. For solo music it is not very important.

Tres beau travaille. J'ai un groupe de flute barroque et on est entrain de la pratiquer pour la jouer a un marche medieval. Si tu aurais d'autre chanson de se gnere pourrais-je t'en demander? Ou au moin leur nom.

Avez vous regardé dans les pièces de Thoinot Arbeau : L'orchesographie , il y a de nombreuses danses qu'on peu jouer dans les fêtes. Cherchez Orchesographie dans google... Il y a le fac similé et des arrangements à 4 parties.
