  • I remember hearing this on an eclectic-album formatted radio station out of suburban Baltimore (the old WGRX) in 1985. With all the hype over top-40 in those days, that station was about the only place you could find quality music.

  • a forever beauty :)

  • The words are often a bit obtrusive, and you mispelled turnning. But the pictures are amazingly well chosen.

  • I love the picture at 1:08 and 2:32, could someone give me a link; one on flicker would be best so I could add it to my favorites. Thanks in advance :)

  • beautiful work, a wonderful tribute to a great song, but sadly the word 'turning' doesn't have two 'N's'

  • my friend Remi sung this (and played a guitar) at a talent show and she wuz sooooo good!

  • Just beautiful!

  • fantastic video!

  • wow, loved it when I first heard it and love it still all these years on......

  • I was wonedering what the name of the picture at 0:44 called? I know it's from DA and I'm figuring that it is in fractel art right?

  • This is one of my favorite Suzanne Vega songs! It's just beautiful! I could listen to it over and over again! It's impossible for me to listen to it without hitting "replay" when it's finished!

  • beautiful

  • shes great with the guitar, and has a beautiful voice with a thoughtful soul

  • @vinniecurley

  • @bels4her Do u know, please, which is the song of Suzanne Vega from 89-90 in which video there were some tea cups breaking? tup-tu-tu-dup/tup-tu-tudup... Pease, help me!

  • @fotosony Do you perhaps mean Tom's Diner?

  • Two days ago I was in Germany, when in the bus I heard this song. And I loved it.

  • @legendarycripset well i like it. (:

  • @legendarycripset LOL U LIKE THIS SHIT BRO

  • Nice video, you managed to capture the essence I believe

  • smurf, fantastic. made me laugh :o)

  • lol. when I first heard this song I was 8 and I asked my mum if she meant a smurf xD I think this song is just about the innocence of a child and how they would describe something. We had to do a play about this song in drama once and there were so many interpretations. Some was a blue engagement ring, some was a tear, some was a bruise. I did a play about that about how a little girl who loses everything finds a small blue pearl. Love this song. 5/5 xx

  • @lozmond2005 Thats great, did we have same drama teacher? My drama teacher also loved suzanne vega! She got us to do a play on the Queen and the Soldier. Another fantastic song by the vega! I interpreted it as being in the throws of addictions. Listen and see what you think. Also whats the drama teachers name just out of curiosity? X

  • @1984nlr well we got to choose out of my book of dreams, small blue thing or queen and the soldier...that and marleen on the wall. My group chose to use book of dreams as a little girl who gets beat up (small blue thing song) and book of dreams for when she doodles to get away from it all...but yeh she died at the end which we used queen and the soldier...we were like 14 at the time. We had Mrs Johnston in Turriff Academy - Scotland. You?

  • The accoustic guitar and human voice. Two simple tools for expressing such emotion. Love it.

  • I second "vous" ;o)#

Marc, wearing a blue shirt. No joking. For 2 meter tall people, I am a small blue thing (about 1.75) LOL

  • Yeah, the song is great =))

  • I love this song, it's one of my favorits

  • Food for the soul!!

  • @windwolf77 Do u know, please, which is the song of Suzanne Vega from 89-90 in which video there were some tea cups breaking? tup-tu-tu-dup/tup-tu-tudup... Pease, help me!

  • hehehe first full length song I ever learned to play...before All Along the Watchtower even :) Nice vid...

  • This is a coincidence. I was thinking about learning this song and 'All Along the Watchtower' (in fact I just saw that video before watching this video). Both are great songs.
