Zucker's an asshole for even suggesting the Tonight Show move to 12:05. The Tonight Show is an iconinc institution of television.....one of the few.....and this dumbass wants Conan to move the show that has been at 11:30 since it began to move just because Jay Leno's stupid ass 10 o'clock show did not work out and he wants his old job back!? Shame on Zucker and NBC for wanting to do that and for stealing Conan's show and dream right out from under him. Eat shit and die!
Conan could have gone to FOX! But he wanted to stay at NBC. Who on Earth would change the Tonight Show?! It's been on at 11:30 for decades and because you don't want to loose friekin Jay Leno, you'll change that?! If anything, they should have bumped Fallon, he could have gone back to SNL or something, go somewhere else, but now they have Jay Leno, which not many people like and Conan on a different station. + Conan's right.. TV is changing, soon it won't even matter if you're on network or not!
Watch the entire interview and you'll see the guy is an airhead. He just arbitrarily spits out bullet points and has nothing insightful to say. He has no business running anything, much less a creative enterprise like a TV network. Why did he do this interview anyway? Charlie seems annoyed and rightfully so.
@RyanInLA i dnt think thats true. He's pretty clear in explaining why he did the things he did. Conan was leaving so they offer him the tonight show as a quick fix. Then the time comes and their quick fix is screwing them cos they dont wanna lose Leno. So they put him on at 10. Makes sense. Then when it doesnt work they try and reverse it, but Conan's given a slight upper hand (he has the whole hour and the tonight show branding). Jays more at blame for conans demise than zucker/nbc.
Amazes me this guy still has a job. Pushed Leno out for Conan back in 2004. Then decided in 2009 to hire Leno for 10pm/for five weekday shows to keep costs down. Leno sucked in the ratings and 11pm newscasts and Conan struggled due to that poor ratings lead in. Zucker's new master plan, move Leno to 11:35pm for just 30 minutes and push Conan and Fallon back 30 minutes. So many are out of work and this twit still has a job? NBC is clueless.
Top 10 complaints of Jeff Zucker: 10. Jay always plays with his cars & not with him. 9. His chin gets in the way when he's "down there". 8. When he climaxes he sounds like Elmer Fudd. 7. He stole his 11:30 show about asshole executives. 6. For foreplay he says "Vroom...Vroom". 5. Nude Jaywalking just isn't funny. 4. He prefers to pleasure peacocks. 3. The crying about how Letterman kicked his ass. 2. He's not Johnny. 1. At 11:30 Jay leaves Zucker in bed alone & starts his monologue.

In my opinion, neither Jay nor Conan are remotely funny. They're not even funny ACCIDENTALLY. They are not smart, or witty. They got nothin. I've never understood their appeal.
What WOULD be funny is for them both to be fired and never appear on tv again.
Btw, feel the same way about Craig Ferguson and I would also like to see him disappear.
@AllUrUtubeRbelong2me you sir obviously despise everyone , who would you suggest as a good late night host that instead of having mass appeal has the attributes that YOU desire for a late night tv host ??
I don't know Jeffrey Zucker however I think it is important that people on the internet know I don't really like him and his suit that doesn't look like it fits him too well.
I'm astounded that these executives have not listened to the public outcry of the networks latest decisions. Clearly, they are losing supporters and I, for one, promise to never watch another show in their network.
Here is a fashion tip, shave the rest of your head - you're not fooling anyone you ugly, fat, mess of a man.
why don't they move leno to 11 pm, give him a half hour, leave conan and fallon with their original time slots....the ratings are back, especially for conan....he deserves it.....NBC will make a huge mistake if they let conan go
Isn't that the obvious decision? Stop the Jay Leno show. Let Conan develop.....give Jay something else...a sticom, mornings...etc a talk show in the afternoon.

What a mix up, Conan had enough chance to get Leno's audience, he neither brought new audience nor did he capture Leno's fans.
Although, Conan ended up getting srewed, it's not Leno's fault. Most people are jumping on Leno to withdraw, but the fact is it's all about money generation, Leno has more viewers for the contested time slot, so feel sorry for Connan, but life goes on. Even then, we don't know if Leno's fans are coming back, after such a messy divorce and remarriage. Time will tell.
Conan had 7 months...Jay had 3 years, to build an audience. He couldn't get Leno Fans, because Leno was still on, it's basically pushing everything up an hour and expecting more people would watch
It's partially Leno's fault...He could've left, went to another network when his show was canceled...but he decided it was best to be a hypocrite and go back on his word.
It was never a question that Leno drew more viewers
it was a question of whether Conan even had the chance to build up viewers.

Leno accepted NBC's proposal that he was going to build new audience for that time slot. When they wanted to shut that door on him, because he was unable to generate viewers for that time slot, simutaneously Conan was having difficulties of building his audience. The only logical thing to do is, to bring back the better host to where he was at, and to let the other guy go. I am sure that if you were in the position to make decision, you would have done the same.
The issue with NBC is that they tried to hold onto two hosts vying for one spot, and that wasn't going to work, putting Leno in primetime was an abject failure, Conan couldn't build viewers because of time and NBC cannibalizing the Tonight show viewers with the Jay Leno show.
Conan never had a chance to succeed, and that is fairly obvious...answer this question please, if Johnny Carson still stayed on at NBC right before the "Tonight Show" when Jay Leno took over, could he succeed?
You conveniently omit the fact that Leno was losing to Letterman for 2 years before the Hugh Grant interview, and was given more time to build his audience.

Leno was beating Letterman hands down, the reason Letterman trying to intreject in the fued was to make it look he feels for Conan, the fact is he was happy to compete with Conan, and now he has to compete with someone that has been beating him up for the last decade and half.
I like Leterrman, but Leno is better. Letterman brings his dirty laundary on public for a rating, but Leno builds his audience through pleasant and light jokes. Don't you blame the player, hate the game! Mr. El Capitano
I had really hoped that Charlie would have asked Mr. Zucker the question of "why not axe the Jay Leno show entirely so that the Tonight Show would have had the chance to develop?" Asides from that, I really think that Conan should have called the bluff and stayed with NBC. There's no way a half hour Jay Leno show would have worked out.

The Obvious Solution for all the 11:35 p.m. time slots:
Jimmy Fallon hosting on ABC.
Conan O'Brien and Letterman co-hosting on NBC.
Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel co-hosting on Fox.
And the leader, Craig Ferguson, hosting on CBS.
