Breastfeeding until 3-4 is normal everywhere else but north america, it seems we are in a place wehere it is so taboo yet it is the most natural and best thing for baby! You are doing awesome and if he breastfeeds until he is 2 even dont let people tel you its wrong or bad, its normal, even the WHO reccomends going till at least 2, Coming from someone who has exclusively pumped for over a year I would give my right arm to be able to breastfeed, i am still pumping at 13 months!
They wean themselves when they are ready I don't know why people think there is a cut off age... I plan on breastfeeding as long ad possible hopefully at lest till he's one. My niece weaned herself at 20 months. Every child is different. I think it's great your still breastfeeding!!! Good for you!!!
Great job for you.. I wish that I could have breastfed my daughter longer. But for some strange reason my milk dried up. I tried everything to get it back. But nothing worked. I do plan on breastfeeding my next child and I hope it works this time.I have a ? when they get bigger is it hard to breastfeed? I know with my daughter it was easy. I feed her up until 3 months old. I say do it as long as he wants to do it. GO MAMA
My daughter is only 7 months old & I've been hearing that for a month now. It's riiiiiidiculous that I should take her off of something that is not only BEST for her but also FREE. I don't get it & I hate that people think they get to have an opinion on my kid. I became a stay at home mom when I had her and I now feel like I have a million supervisors "reviewing" my performance in my new job. So I totally feel ya. (btw, it sounds like you're saying "wing" him.... it's pronounced weeeen) :)
Totally hear you! My son turned 1 on Sept 14th and it's like people expect him to be weaned the same day. Clueless idiots. Keep on breastfeeding until you're ready to wean! We are just now starting to wean my son so he's taking 8oz of whole milk in a sippy & nursing 3x a day. Teeth is a horrible excuse my son has 12 teeth Lol and I still BF with no problem!
My baby girl just turned 11 months and im 3 months pregnant with baby #2 and still breastfeeding. Sure enough ppl are even more surprised why am i still breastfeeding. But im going strong @ least until she turns 1.
@PreciousAngelochek Great Job :D I wanted to be done but I know it's best for Dante and so i will keep going. People are just rude when they don't realize how great it's for our babies.
good for you Alex!!! congratulations for being such a good mother. ΜΠΡΑΒΟ!!! you know, people is weird anyway!i'm breastfeeding my 5 and a half months old son and have been asked:' oh,my God, is that normal?"see? people who doesn't know anything about nursing and how precious is to breastfeed, they are weird!not us!
I'm still breastfeeding my daughter who is 13 months and 5weeks pregnant. I get a lot of crap for it now and get a lot of the comments like " what, are you going to bf until she is in college." Its so irriatating so I. Know how you feel.
I plan on breastfeeding until age 2 and I don't care what people will say! My mom breastfed me and my brother till 16 months and 18 months and the World Health Organization rec's up until 2 years! So tell them that ! a lot of youtube users do extended breastfeeding too like Lucy and Stephanie and Jeni so you might find support from them. you are an awesome mom for sticking with it. People are uninformed about the benefits of extended breastfeeding in the U.S. Its not like that in other places
@Janarae18 That's great for you! Yes they are very misinformed and it's sad. I watch all three of them most of the time and think it's awesome how long they are going when many moms give up not to long after baby is born.
We started giving our son juice about 13 months but he doesnt really drink it. We water it down about 1/2 water 1/2 juice. Dante is so cute did you give him a hair cut??
Great video! Stick with as long as you want to not how long others want you to. What's best for baby is more important than what others are comfortable with. Great to see another video :) Hope you're doing well!!!
My son is almost 17 mths and still bfing but I don't get hassled about it very often. My family and friends all understand it's best for him. We introduced whole milk a few months ago though so he gets both boob and cows milk. Also, we had to get him a straw cup bc he didn't know how to use a sippy. And, he takes a paci but has never had a bottle.
As an outsider I saw on the Tyra Banks show that breast feeding is only nutritionally beneficial for a very short period of time like just during the first few months of life which is prob. why their saying those things. I don't think ppl consider the bonding an teeth growth, etc. I don't know but I'm planning to go a yr to a yr and a half when I have a kid. I don't think he'll stop on his own b/c that's what's normal to him so you'll wean him off when you feel like u need to.
You are doing such a wonderful thing, never let anyone tell you different! Only wean him when you feel ready :) My daughter just weaned at 24 months. I breastfed her in public until she was 22 months. I had a few weird looks, but I don't care!
Ooo forgt to tell you that when hes older lets say 15 months then they look at you like you're a freak ... but the thing is we drink so why can't our baby drink when he wants from the breast? And pumping I hate it too but, when I get my surgey...
omgt it drives me INSANE! I'm constantly being asked if i'm still nursing and my dd is only 8 mo! I do give her water in a straw sippy cup and she also has one that you have to tip up. She got the hang of it in her carseat because of the angle
yes, i get it a lot but, i'm not gona force my son who is 10 months old to take a bottle just because some people in society think its wrong to feel at a yr :/ the Australian breastfeeding association says u should feed up into 2 yrs. lol @ u wanting him to stop i hear ya, i would like to have the freedom to go out at night. but my some would go mental. just say to them? what u going to pay for my formula and get up and night to make bottles? see what they say =p
@MummyLELE I know huh. If I do go out like once, they assume I do it a lot more and I have to reexplain why I can't do that. How it hurts my supply and so on. But even though I am going to keep going. I can't wait to not be bresst feeding LOL.
My daughter was 14 months and now I will go untill he stops with it.
I will undergo a surgery within 2 months and I'm worried how I'm not gonna stop then or now.But I have so much milk when he don't drinks after a warm meal.
And if they ask why you still breastfeed you say its the best.
at w w w. borst voedings. com they have a list in dutch 101 things to say against people whom react to nursing. :)))
My mum always makes comments about my daughter 10 months still breadstfeeding and my doctor told me I can stop now because I can be making her lack in iron and zinc but I just take supplements. My daughter as 5 teeth and I don't feel it when she feed. If you want to go out just pump. People don't mind when they are tiny babies but after 6 months and the baby gets bigger some people think its weird
@millyb83 I hate pumping LOL. I rather Breast feed. Way easier. Dante's Teeth don't bother me either so I wish people would stop saying that for an a excuse. :D
what about straw sippys and good for you for not weaning just cus of people who dont know anything about breastfeeding i plan to hopfully breastfeed any of my children i have till 2 and everyone in my family find breastfeeding odd but if your looking for something for him to drink other then breast milk maybe almond milk
