The answer to forgivenness is a proper understanding of love in context of God's omnipotence (ie predestination) - since God is the allmighty one, necessarily predestining everything, forgivenness of a person's sins comes easier having understood God is the one who predestined it.
My Christian friend told me that Evolution was not a scientific fact , when it clearly is.
He is not a scientist and I am . Should I forgive him for his ignorance ? Or lack of humility? or his betrayal of his fellow man by rejecting our precious learning in favour of religious dogma that has no evidence? Difficult question , but I felt t he best way was to lock him in the cellar with a book about DNA Homology until he was wiser. Was I wrong ?
how do i let go of hurt and pain of a break up im having a difficult time with this i prayed and prayed asking god to take away the pain but i yhink about her and get the hurting feelings again asking myself why
@dontre2333 I have been there before too and I know it is no easy matter but remember that you still must forgive her in order to be forgiven. Let not your heart be troubled..
Psalms 91..he that dwells in the secret place of the most High..shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty...And I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, and my fortress, my God in Him I will trust. Also check Philippians 3:13-14 God Bless!
I believe the only thing she could do is become more like Christ and then will she have a heart to forgive as YAHUSHUA (Jesus) wants her to. Only YAHUSHUA was able to forgive HIS persecutors while being crucified. So as she conforms into the image of YAHUSHUA, HE gives her HIS heart.

Tim, when i forgive someone, i think about the reasons why they did what they did. I think about the circumstances they were in to make them hurt me. Was it because they were brought up a certain way? Was it because they had a bad experience earlier on in their lives? When i forgive someone, i forgive them because i accept there's a viable reason for what they did, not because im following an example or obeying a command.
Mr. Michigan im afraid tht u got some things wrong mann... no one is victimizing anyone. im guessing you don't believe the Bible and ur probably a so-called atheist. If not and u read the bible you will see that this is wat God commands; its not abt how we feel but wat God commands!
What makes sin wrong? that it hurt me? no, it is against God's law. When I don't forgive, I am making myself the judge rather than God. Forgiveness in is the result of the true recognition of sin, and of the reality of judgment. When I realize what awaits the sinner, and also sense what Jesus did for me, I cannot help but want God to forgive them. That is how I forgive. (against Thee and Thee only have I sinned. . . )
The question was "how" not "why". My question is the same. I am a Christian and desire very much so to forgive those who used, abused and hurt me deeply, but how? I understand perfectly why I need to forgive them, that is not my question nor the question this person asked Pastor Tim.
Anyone can put on a face and say forgive them cus its what the 'bible' says to do but yet people ARE FAKES and they will say i forgive ya but deep down they even give a damn! like seriously this is a flippin joke!
The only reason why Jesus Christs wants us to forgive are enemies is because he is going to take revenge on them. So logically Jesus Christ doesn't forgive, so why should I forgive people, if Jesus Christs wants to cut in on my unforgiveness. People should do whats right, if you feel like you need to forgive, forgive to better your life. All Tim Conway and his churchgoers are doing are victimizing people who are victims of abuse. His advice is bad pyschology. All it is is religious abuse
Thank you for your comment. As a Christian I didn't care for Pastor Conway's response, so let me give you my own. Forgiveness is not excusing the person who has wronged you. Forgiveness is for your sake too! By forgiving, you don't have to be a victim to whatever hurt that person caused you. Also, it changes the way you deal with that person because they no longer have power over you.
Thanks for this video. I have better understanding of what true forgiveness is.Not to look how much we forgive people who done wrong to us but how much Christ forgave us.
i have the understanding that the last line where 'This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.' is along the lines of the beatitudes where Christ is bringing us back to the highest mark. that is what we must do. but after Christ died there is nothing we must do to be forgiven.
who can forgive everyone from the bottom of their heart without Christ?
And what if you have wronged someone and you repented and apologized but the person does not want to forgive you. How does one deal with not being forgiven?
You have done what is right. Christian history is filled with perpetrators who have asked for forgiveness and were still treated horribly. It's unfortunate the person is still upset. Please respect their boundaries and move on with your life. You have nothing to worry about.
20 Therefore if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Watching this video this scripture comes to mind for when people do evil to us.
Romans 12:20-21
20 Therefore if your enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
