Generally the smaller the camera the better the monopod works, because you have a much lower center of gravity because the smaller cameras are so light. One of the new Kodak hd cams or a flip cam works great on a mono pod.
Mine has been in dropped, on countless plane rides, and generally abused. There is just not that many parts to break. I am not loyal to any one brand at all, but the Manfrotto that I use has been a dependable piece of gear that I use all the time.
Thanks for showing this to me. I just bought a Nikon D5000 and I had seen a video of someone using one but did not know the name of it. Though someone else on Youtube said that the one you were using wasn't that good and that some pieces would break off of it. Have you heard anything about this before?
This is my "two cents worth"....I do believe that the HEAVIER a monopod is, the STEADIER it will be!.. so, the lighter monopods are great for certain types of shooting, but I intend to buy the HEAVIEST monopod I can find. And, no, I don't intend to BACKPACK, which would certainly change what I"ve just said.... he didn't mention what was the model number of the Manfrotto. I plan to buy one similar to that one, if its heavy enough!..
I got mine from Walmart today too...LOL. The Targus Monopod works just great and will do the same thing as the expensive ones. $15 bucks well spend. :)
I also have two big tripods and then I have two smaller table tops. The monopod makes a great addition and will get a lot of use.
i got mine for $15.00 at walmart earlier

What if you have a pocket camera. Does a monopod work for that too?
Someone reply please!

I find it unfortunate that there have no screws on the other side of the monopod to be able to use it as a telescopic perch...
