Also Abraham Lincoln wasn't against slavery, he said if he could hold the union together without freeing a single slave he would. The civil war was over the union falling apart, Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and trampled on states' rights to secede - he was not a good president. In fact the North had slaves too, Grant of who did not release his until way after the war. The war wasn't about slavery, slavery was just something the Union (Federal Government) used as war propaganda. The civil war was over the union falling apart, Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and trampled on states' rights to secede - he was not a good president. In fact the North had slaves too, Grant of who did not release his until way after the war. The war wasn't about slavery, slavery was just something the Union (Federal Government) used as war propaganda. The war was over the Federal Government growing out of control and the Southern states, by law, withdrew from the voluntary contract and instituted their own form of government.

If they love this country, the freedoms it provides (and the freebies that flow to them commonly) they should thank God that their forefathers were CAPTURED and SOLD by other BLACKS in Africa and sent to America so they could be here today. The War was started because the South didn't want the North to tell them what to do and wanted to separate from it. So get your facts straight.
