You don't really even need to put point into explosives for the bomb you guys. If your perception is at least 4, if you put on the glasses and use mentats which you can get from the Vault, you can disarm it as soon as you walk in the town.

@DrAlexJCagleMD Let me rephrase, I tried upwards of TWO HUNDRED times on many speech checks, half of the ones I tried had 30% chances or higher (still below 60%), I was just very unlucky.
I don't understand why you would allocate 9 SPECIAL points into strength? Wouldn't it better to put them into agility and endurance instead? I think if someone is going to make a NON-melee character, it's better to put the SPECIAL points into agility and endurance.
@mistermass1 I'm playing the GOTY version of Fallout 3 for 360, and I have yet to run into any speech challenges that take more than 10 tries (speech skill of 14). The ONE speech challenge that I cannot seem to pass, is the one with Lucas Simms, where you ask him for 500 caps instead of 100. The speech challenge is at 7% success, so I guess it's understandable that it took me more than 100 tries before I got it.

Overall a brilliant guide! What I would like to point out is that you should use this guide according to your style of gameplay. If you use this guide, you don't have to use it exactly like in the guide. After all it's a guide not rules. For example you might like to sneak alot where as he might not. @Procaines You can do whatever you want with the specials, just don't make them past 10. In fact, I try to use "Intense Training" once if at all. When you get to level 30, you can take "almost perfect" and all SPECIALS will be 9. After you do that, grab each SPECIAL bobblehead to raise them all to 10. You can do whatever you want though like i usually start S-7 P-5 E-6 C-5 I-7 A-5 L-5
@MrMaurdre1 If you have a skill that's already at 100 and you have more skill books for that skill, they're basically useless. You can read them if you want but they won't have any affect seeing as how the skill was already maxed out. Sell them, save them, use them, decorate your house with them, it doesn't matter once the skill they pertain to has already been maxed out.
@MrMaurdre1 The same rules apply to SKILL Bobbleheads as with skill books. I will say that it is HIGHLY recommended that you get all of the SKILL Bobbleheads as soon as you can so that your skills are above average and your skill points that you earn from level ups can be used less strictly in the beginning/middle of the game. The S.P.E.C.I.A.L Bobbleheads, however, you should collect only AFTER reaching level 30 and choosing the 'Almost Perfect' perk. If you have Broken Steel, that is.

@MrMaurdre1 I don't see how it would make much of a difference. Whenever you collect a Bobblehead, it will have some kind of quote and it will state that the related skill has been increased by 10 points. If you have a skill at 95 it will still state that it has been increased by 10, however it will cap off at 100 as by law of the game design. Getting a Bobblehead for a skill that is ALREADY at 100 will have no effect on your skills at all even though it states that it has been increased by 10.
ii is important to put intelligence to 9 and head directly to rivet city to get the intelligence bobblehead +1 to intelligence meaning more skill points when lvl up

low luck 7 per ,7 str,7 int and atleast 6 agl im not saying this is the best combination im just saying its a good one for slightly higher skills from the start.

Skill points are everywhere in a huge profusion. Get perks that give you what is unavailable elsewhere: SPECIAL boosts (Intense Training) or abilities
Adamantium Skeleton, Better Criticals, Commando, Comprehension, Cyborg, Finesse, Gunslinger, Sniper and Grim Reaper's Sprint. Even dubious things like Toughness and Rad Regeneration are better than skill points
I will not take Bloody Mess in future games. It ruined immersion for me
@RAMB0IV My bad I didn't mention that I don't max out any stat at the beginning. I usually go 7 for INT and STR and I put the last point on whatever I'm feeling and I keep the rest at 5. Even when i first played it with no expansions I still made my character this way. (I never tried to make a perfect one without broken steel) but one day if this game ever becomes boring to me, I'll give it a go lol

personally i dont get any of the special bobbleheads(except inetlligence) until im lvl 30, then get the perk which puts all my specials onto 9 then get the bobbleheads, i put intel at 9, then go to rivet city to get intelligence bobblehead at level 2. then get educated so you have 23 skill points. at level 30 get all other specail bobbleheads to get full 10 specials and full skills. can get books if some arent full
It doesn't matter how you start the game (assuming you have broken steel). Every skill has 25 skill books for it, and if you have *comprehension*- that's 50 points for each skill. Plus you also have bobbleheads for 10 pts each. Then take the *almost perfect* perk at level 30, then grab the SPECIAL bobbleheads
It's a while since I played this game, but I remember that is a mistake to max 10/10 a stat in the beginning, because you can increase the stats during the game.
@Nesser25 Yea but the thing is whats the point of having 10 on all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. after your level 30 because usually at level 30 your pretty much done the game unless you bought the other DLCs then you might have a few more DLC's to finish and your done so :/
@DanTheManVideo there are many people who really love fallout, exploring and such, finding books is easy, if you struggle theres location guides. Obviously its better to take 5 points from intelligence, and put them in luck(increased crit%) or endurance (increased hp) ect. When all your skills reach 100 any points above 4 in intelligence are wasted, making your build weaker than its potential.
Following my method your specials will be more balanced...... Better luck, agility, strength ect. Oh i forgot, each skill bobblehead adds 10 per skill, so books+bobble=60 meaning you only need 25 per skill. Im a legend!!! save special bobbles for after almost perfect and you have perfection without wasting 5 special points in inteligence.
@slimchance87 Yeah but you lose the ability to gain skills faster and who is going to look for all the skill books like what you're describing in your method. Better Strength? It's already 9 in his method. Using his method you will need to look for less books and let me tell you, it's better just sucking up the fact that you "waste" five special points into intelligence than to spend countless hours looking for some books.
Trust me..... You only need inteligence on 4, take comprehension perk, you dont even need educated perk. There is an infinetily respawning science and big guns book, so put no points into those skills. Each skill has 25 books, with comprehension this is 50 points per skill, all your skills start on 10-18 roughly. So if you put about 35 points into each skill you will have all skills 100. Ive done it trust me.
I like you just all of a sudden went from level 2 to level 30 with no real explanation on how you were in megaton, looting Lewis and Mr. Berk, then appear in the water station talking to Walter going from level 29 to level 30 talking about scrap metal glitch and your standing, Protector Casdin at Fort Independence.
So how did you get there before reaching level 3? Or how you did the THOSE quest without leveling up past level 3? See although your video is good, its vague and doesn’t explain how in the video your lvl 2 and now lvl 29.

WTF...you went from lvl 2 or 3 to lvl 29. Did I miss something. You killed burke for killing the sheriff and then went to his house. And boom you're lvl 29. WTF. I have never played this and so this is too odd.
Ok..I am starting this game tomorrow...what is the reasoning behind getting all 100. I am a gamer so I have an understanding but...is the end boss so hard as to need the 100? It just seems a bit obsessive to do so. Very good informative video btw.
@calmingspeed technically there isnt an "end boss." But a guy that you have to kill is very easy to kill on the last mission is very easy. but the mission is long because there is a giant robot blowing up a city :)
I reached level 30 with all 10 special. Just have to be patient with the bobble heads and wait till level 30. The nuka cola quantum perk is so overpowered if you have the 3rd schematic to the nuka grenade and the last rank of demolition expert. Pair that with grim reaper sprint, 100 explosive and bloody mess and then have a one-shot kill weapon on any difficulty. And make sure that you have the Chinese stealth armor. You can pat a deathclaw on the back while you wear it :)
so basically, to get your perfect character you have to buy a map pack, restart the game cos no one does this first time round, and spend f*ckin long time playing the game and find 63!!!!!! skill books :/

you really dont need charisma because it does not effect how much karma you gain or loose when you do something. However, it does effect your speech and barter skill but you can raise it very quickly if you have a high intelligence. Plus, if you want, you can pick the intense training perk which allows you to add one point to one of your s.p.e.c.i.a.l traits.

@DavidDSkater charisma really isnt all that great. i mean, it doesnt affect how much karma you gain or loose when you do something but it does affect your speech skill which can be raised very quickly if you have a high intelligence.
Do you know what I think guys? Why not just make a character for your own play-style. As many are good at sneaking others at aiming, yeah and so on. So there is actually no real "perfect" character. This may suit him and other people, still I don't like it... Feel free to do it your way :)
@siganoff1 yes the medicine bobblehead is in vault 101 in your dad office on his desk and can be obtained right before you go to take the G.O.A.T. All the other bobbleheads are out in the wasteland this is the only one found in vault 101.
This is also possible to do before broken steel was released i had 100 in all my skills. It involved getting a shit ton of skill books. This guide is still fucking awesome!!!
so i have a question, you can play the story at any pace you like as long as you get the skill books, have the right SPECIAL stats, and choose the right perks, correct ? you dont have to strictly get to level 30 only by the infintie scrap metal glitch ?
@The13thROCKER That is what I do, doing the scrap metal glitch is cheating really and not that fun it ruins the purpose of the game. If you wan to breeze through the game with almost no challenge then by all means do this. I don't know about you but i like a little challenge. So to answer your question yes you can.

There's so much to do in this game even after you beat the storyline. I don't know of any other effective way to get every S.P.E.C.I.A.L. to 10 unless there's a hack or something. Plus, I'm just trying to share my tips to attain a maxed out character. Call me a nerd, but I have 185 hours on one file and i still play it and find things to do, so it doesn't get boring.

4:22 DDP gets the Little Leaguer perk, which is a skill boost! No!
Skill points are everywhere in a huge profusion. Get perks that give you what is unavailable elsewhere: SPECIAL boosts (Intense Training) or abilities
Adamantium Skeleton, Better Criticals, Commando, Comprehension, Cyborg, Finesse, Gunslinger, Sniper and Grim Reaper's Sprint. Even dubious things like Toughness and Rad Regeneration are better than skill points
I will not take Bloody Mess in future games. It ruined immersion for me

@RAMB0IV My bad I didn't mention that I don't max out any stat at the beginning. I usually go 7 for INT and STR and I put the last point on whatever I'm feeling and I keep the rest at 5. Even when i first played it with no expansions I still made my character this way. (I never tried to make a perfect one without broken steel) but one day if this game ever becomes boring to me, I'll give it a go lol

I was stupid and put my strength at 10 in the beginning, even though the strength bobblehead is right there in Lucas Simms' house. Oh well though, what can I say? It was my first playthrough and I didn't know any better.

personally i dont get any of the special bobbleheads(except inetlligence) until im lvl 30, then get the perk which puts all my specials onto 9 then get the bobbleheads, i put intel at 9, then go to rivet city to get intelligence bobblehead at level 2. then get educated so you have 23 skill points. at level 30 get all other specail bobbleheads to get full 10 specials and full skills. can get books if some arent full

It doesn't matter how you start the game (assuming you have broken steel). Every skill has 25 skill books for it, and if you have *comprehension*- that's 50 points for each skill. Plus you also have bobbleheads for 10 pts each. Then take the *almost perfect* perk at level 30, then grab the SPECIAL bobbleheads

It's a while since I played this game, but I remember that is a mistake to max 10/10 a stat in the beginning, because you can increase the stats during the game.

@Nesser25 Yea but the thing is whats the point of having 10 on all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. after your level 30 because usually at level 30 your pretty much done the game unless you bought the other DLCs then you might have a few more DLC's to finish and your done so :/

@DanTheManVideo there are many people who really love fallout, exploring and such, finding books is easy, if you struggle theres location guides. Obviously its better to take 5 points from intelligence, and put them in luck(increased crit%) or endurance (increased hp) ect. When all your skills reach 100 any points above 4 in intelligence are wasted, making your build weaker than its potential.

Following my method your specials will be more balanced...... Better luck, agility, strength ect. Oh i forgot, each skill bobblehead adds 10 per skill, so books+bobble=60 meaning you only need 25 per skill. Im a legend!!! save special bobbles for after almost perfect and you have perfection without wasting 5 special points in inteligence.

@slimchance87 Yeah but you lose the ability to gain skills faster and who is going to look for all the skill books like what you're describing in your method. Better Strength? It's already 9 in his method. Using his method you will need to look for less books and let me tell you, it's better just sucking up the fact that you "waste" five special points into intelligence than to spend countless hours looking for some books.

Trust me..... You only need inteligence on 4, take comprehension perk, you dont even need educated perk. There is an infinetily respawning science and big guns book, so put no points into those skills. Each skill has 25 books, with comprehension this is 50 points per skill, all your skills start on 10-18 roughly. So if you put about 35 points into each skill you will have all skills 100. Ive done it trust me.

I like you just all of a sudden went from level 2 to level 30 with no real explanation on how you were in megaton, looting Lewis and Mr. Berk, then appear in the water station talking to Walter going from level 29 to level 30 talking about scrap metal glitch and your standing, Protector Casdin at Fort Independence.

you got luck with a 8% i got mine on a 5% thats with the 101 suit on and 12 (+2 from the suit) in speech on my first try.

all kinds of ppl apparently don't pay much attention looking at all the comments, saying to get 8 str cause of the 'those!' quest which you clearly indicate to get the +1 perception rather then the strength for perks. just saying ppl need to be a little more intuitive about what what their trying to bash on . ;x

Ok..I am starting this game tomorrow...what is the reasoning behind getting all 100. I am a gamer so I have an understanding but...is the end boss so hard as to need the 100? It just seems a bit obsessive to do so. Very good informative video btw.

@calmingspeed technically there isnt an "end boss." But a guy that you have to kill is very easy to kill on the last mission is very easy. but the mission is long because there is a giant robot blowing up a city :)

I reached level 30 with all 10 special. Just have to be patient with the bobble heads and wait till level 30. The nuka cola quantum perk is so overpowered if you have the 3rd schematic to the nuka grenade and the last rank of demolition expert. Pair that with grim reaper sprint, 100 explosive and bloody mess and then have a one-shot kill weapon on any difficulty. And make sure that you have the Chinese stealth armor. You can pat a deathclaw on the back while you wear it :)

so basically, to get your perfect character you have to buy a map pack, restart the game cos no one does this first time round, and spend f*ckin long time playing the game and find 63!!!!!! skill books :/

you really dont need charisma because it does not effect how much karma you gain or loose when you do something. However, it does effect your speech and barter skill but you can raise it very quickly if you have a high intelligence. Plus, if you want, you can pick the intense training perk which allows you to add one point to one of your s.p.e.c.i.a.l traits.

And is it possible to raise your specials before using the almost perfect perk? (exept the ant sight, lucky 8 ball, bobbleheads, and intense training) ?

@DavidDSkater charisma really isnt all that great. i mean, it doesnt affect how much karma you gain or loose when you do something but it does affect your speech skill which can be raised very quickly if you have a high intelligence.

Do you know what I think guys? Why not just make a character for your own play-style. As many are good at sneaking others at aiming, yeah and so on. So there is actually no real "perfect" character. This may suit him and other people, still I don't like it... Feel free to do it your way :)

@siganoff1 yes the medicine bobblehead is in vault 101 in your dad office on his desk and can be obtained right before you go to take the G.O.A.T. All the other bobbleheads are out in the wasteland this is the only one found in vault 101.

so i have a question, you can play the story at any pace you like as long as you get the skill books, have the right SPECIAL stats, and choose the right perks, correct ? you dont have to strictly get to level 30 only by the infintie scrap metal glitch ?

@The13thROCKER That is what I do, doing the scrap metal glitch is cheating really and not that fun it ruins the purpose of the game. If you wan to breeze through the game with almost no challenge then by all means do this. I don't know about you but i like a little challenge. So to answer your question yes you can.

Wow, you spent 3 perks leveling up 5 points of unarmed? What a waste. You should get the perk that levels up your big guns by 15 and spent your skill points leveling up unarmed instead
