Thank you very much Lrdvltr for the kind words. As I mention in the vidm there are tons of technical clips out there of techniques so using these tips to put them into an alive drill during Open-Mat time is a great idea!
Thank you very much! I have, unfortunately promised the mrs that I wouldn't be doing any weekends away until November :) but hopefully will see you guys all soon :)
I've heard some say closed guard is more suitable for long legged amazonians :) but that some make it work to great levels! The secret is not to let them crowd you (using the hand on the mat and creating your space) but I guess that's always the case with any type of bottom game,
Great video Liam (it's Megan)...I'm WAY reluctant to use butterfly (I feel like my legs are way too confined), but this was a good intro to getting started.
Thank you so much ishealy for such kind words!! Butterfly is a great guard and is really a portal to many different open and closed guard games not to mention sweeps, back-takes and subs!
As for age, we are lucky to be in a sport/art pioneered by people who trained into their 90s :o) Roll on Buddy!
Thank you very much mc94 for the kind words. This was a suggestion from a reader of my blog (google The Part Time Grappler) so if you have any queries or suggestions, find the blog and hit the envelope to drop me a line.
this is one of the more impressive butterfly guard tutorials on youtube. I look for more and sweeps to add to my arsenal but seeing someone else show how to start is always great to see. keep up the great work!
