  • I did and it performed well but when it comes to performance I feel that it falls behind bubble magus.

  • Does your HOB make a lot of noise or is it pretty much quiet.....seems pretty quiet to me?

  • @gmoney1961 its pretty noisy but you get used to it after a while, still be better with a nice sump setup, just showing that its possible if you take care of it to keep a nice tank with hob stuff.

  • Hell with reef octopus!! Bubble magus is alot better plus you get more bang for your buck

  • @nakmin123 havent tried it so i dont know, ill look into it, and have you tried the reef octopus with bubble blaster pumps yourself ?

  • Just came across your channel....very nice tank....I'll keep an eye out for your next project. I was looking into getting an Octopus HOB for my 75 now that I see you had it so I'll go with it.

  • @gmoney1961 thanks, still working on what the next project might be. and if you need an HOB i would try the cone version from octopus and get in black lol. the red gets old quick.

  • @pnavarro170 Okay cool I'll have to check it out. I'm told that cone versions of protein skimmers can be more efficient.

  • Hey subbed could I subb back

  • @fishdude3213 ill check it out for sure.

  • Very smooth narration. Hey man this 120 is awsome I cant even imagine how sick your 210 is going to be. I would love to go bigger also but im already pushing it with my 120 on a second floor apt of a shitty house lol. thanks for the sub im def sub'd back, I hope you document the whole process. to me those are always fun to watch.

  • @nyinfamous2k2 thanks for the compliment, first time i do it, and only did 2 takes. it probably could be a little longer and better if thought it out. and yeah i wish i could keep this tank and do the other one slowly but there really isnt any other place to put either. so it will be sweet either way. yours is coming along nicely keep it up.

  • @nyinfamous2k2 thanks man as of now the 210 isnt for sure. might go a rimless smaller tank , things have changed a bit but i will surely video the whole process got some things on my mind i want to try.

  • Hey there. I'm new to all this youtube stuff. I apologize for accidentally blocking you. I must have done something weird! My kids mess around with my computer too! Dang kids! I think your aquarium is awesome and I welcome all your comments. I'm just getting started in the world of salt :)

  • @serwin1115 ok sorry about that. no worries. ill subscribe to you also. thanks for letting me know.

  • On the substrate maybe go 50/50 sugar fine and course. The course stuff will always stay on top and doesn't tend to blow around as easily. That's how I have it, and it works well.

  • @kevinrsp yeah but nice clean white sand will look better in my opinion. ive toned down the flow most times. if not just put the sand back in places sometimes. haha. crushed coral or big pieces dont look as clean

  • @pnavarro170 Hey, I'm gonna try and get an update up in a few days.

  • holy mother fucking shit! you didnt use a sump and it looks that good?

  • @Teslasdik haha yeah, this equipment was bought for a 90, but fits perfectly for this 120 4ft. Octopus lx2000 skimmer is a beast. there is a large cpr refugium and thats it. well plus heater hidden behind skimmer and flow. the skimmer is great i would even put it on a fish only 180 or lightly stocked 150. but with my corals and fish i fear it would be inadequate in years time. So im going big for the next one. stay tuned/ subscribe please. thanks.

  • Truly amazing that the 120 is without a sump. The tank is beautiful. I am glad that you are going to video your new build.

What size substrate are you using in the 120?

  • @adjusterfrank suppose to be a little on the deeper side. im guessing 2-3 inches at least. dang vortechs move it sometimes. haha. and thank you. i just wanted to show what could be done with good husbandry care.

  • Can't wait for the sweet new beginning of your soon to be HUGE tank! Even with your non-sump system now, everything looks amazing!

Good to finally hear from ya.

  • @kevinrsp thanks Kevin, again we will have new beginnings around the same time. cept i will have some catching up to do starting from scratch.
