@khirandra54 it depends what kind of fish for example bass you have to set the hook just in case the fish isnt hooked at all or isnt hooked very well for fish like bluegill(brim) you do not need to set the hook just keep tension on the line

Along the banks or in shallow water their will be big dug out holes , very easy to spot

Get up really close to them , and drop a fake grub in them , and right when they pick it up set the hook

Good info & tips but this may just be me but when i fish beding blue gills i never keep them so the can thake care of the nest,But when their not on beds ill keep a few from time to time
