Just curious if you know if you can do this effect without candies? Perhaps an over-reduced light blue, then finish the project with a glittery clear coat? I use Wicked Colors (no candies right now), and I might give this a go. Also, I dont really know much about AA but is your black base coat opaque, transparent, or semi-trans? Thanks Sgtm. -Bugz
@bugs181 You shouldn't have a problem using a trans or over reduced semi-opaque. The only thing is to remember to go really light. They'll build up faster than a candy will. The black is just standard wicked black reduced with 4011.
@bugs181 No worries man. Yeah, the w002. You could also use sealer dark if you wanted, but it's not as black. Do yourself a favor if you haven't already. Get some of the wicked detail colors. They spray so nice I feel like I'm cheating!
@sgtm1775 Actually, I have a few wicked detail colors on order right now, cant wait to try 'em out! But I appreciate you taking the time to answer all of my questions. I also have some opaque white on order so I can make some opaque colors. Appreciate it bud! =)
@sgtm1775 hey, sorry if you've been asked this already or already have video's on it. but this video was suggested so i didn't look on you're channel, but do you have video's of slim ps3's that you've painted?
@VideoSk8Rs34 I'll have to pick one up after the new year. Make sure you sub so you don't miss it. I'll have another tutorial up in a few hours. Ghost flames - old school style.
Dude... It turned out awesome... your the man.... Oh yeah, make sure to make a series if you have 2 vids that are part of a series.... That way the next one automatically starts next.... TD

@VideoSk8Rs34 No, I haven't painted a PS3. They're not much different than painting an xbox though.

@sgtm1775 oh ok, thanks! you should defiantly paint a ps3 sometime if/when you have the time/money. id love to see that.

I have read on TDS of auto-air candy line that they recommend a 3 to 1 ratio with 4011.why did you go 1 to 1?makes it easier to spray?thx
adi2200us 7 months ago
@adi2200us I think I ended up with 4 or 5 coats of candy. I usually mix all of my auto air stuff 1:1, sometimes reduced even more.
