I just did the same with mine and it flies well. You have to put a float at the back. You can attach it on the back tail fin easily. A six channel helicopter is reduced to two channels with floats - so its worth persivering and it flies more stably with floats. With a tail float you'll find that you can make the front floats a lot smaller.
I made mine out of 'dry oasis' - its the stuff florists use to stick silk flowers in. It is probably lighter than polystyrene, but it breaks easier. However it is easy to shape with a knife. I flew it out of a plastic paddling pool. However I just made some bigger ones like yours and didn't test drive them first - so the heli flipped over in the pond. However it stll kept on going with the blades under the water for quite a while.
The copter is not well and I might have to get a new receiver.
ps if the floats are too big they prevent lift as the copters downdraft is pushing down on them. I made my successful floats quite narrow with a third keel underneath and a tail float. Wilkinsons sell dry oasis for a pound a block. I will get round to making a vid - Ive boaught a flycam 1 which I think the copter might lift.(when its fixed.
this copter is a pice of shit it a jap knock off that dont fly if you wana call spining round flying its a total waste of cash SPEND THE XTRA MONEY AND GET A REAL ONE
lol damn you surface tension... id never fly or take off from water never becuase one screw up and blame its gone into oblivion..lol well that and theres no water near meXD i could see maybe a 2 ch but not a 3 or 4 ch too expensive to be doing that for a 15yr old
yeah i saw the last vid in the bath and then saw this but with taller floats/skids, the higher mass could cause it to be top heavy, try wider flatter floats that are slightly longer so that the T/R is higher too :)
Wait a little while, and you may find that the circiut board will be okay after a thorough drying out!! My circuit board came good after a drying, but the tail motor and main motor did not fare as well. As mentioned before, I am considering purchasing a complete new machine. It'll be cheaper in the long run!!
for some reason mine just go's in circles and wont fly anyone got ant tips

Brains aren't everything. In fact in your case they're nothing

Do you realize how fucking stupid you sound here? BTW, I trimmed out my Dragonfly beautifully. How's yours working dumbass?

I just got one today and it just seems to go round and round how do I stop it from doing that? Thanks

ajust the trim im having the same problme:(
bigboioncrack420 4 years ago
Perhaps surface tension is your greatest enemy? I'd try the smallest floats possible.

you don't give up, do you!? hehe keep going!

The problems seems to be the tail rotor dragging everything down, perhaps with taller floats and/or taller skids it will work out smoother.

Seems more like a RC boat than a heli :-)
