I think the reason they make the boxes for the ipod touch now that with the 1g is probably because the ipod touch was so popular that people would steal them or just open it in the store and with the new boxes they can do that because its TOO secure and hard to take out. But thats what i think

I think apple only gives better packaging and small accessories with the 1st gen models of almost all their products because the 1st gen model of everything apple sells is always the most expensive. I got my iPod Touch, 16GB for $400 when the iPod Touch just came out, and now you can get a 64GB iPod touch with a lot of new features for $400.
