@completeinssolutions It really is our pleasure! When you are ready, please give us a call. In addition to keeping the Bricasti M7's in stock (and shipping them for free), we actually know how best to set them up, how to use them, and we will gladly guide you every step of the way. In the meantime, if you have any questions about it (or how you may want to integrate it), please don't hesitate to give us a call.
@ricardoieci The only thing "free" that exists worth using would be some of the plug-ins included with recording applications. While not great, and not on the same planet as the Bricasti, the plug-ins that come Logic, ProTools, Cubase are usable for demo/home-recording purposes.
@ricardoieci Look at SIR Reverb and find some decent impulses and then their are Modern Freeware and a few others like the Classic Reverb that are cool .. nothing on a really good reverb but can be useable and I like it better then cubases algorithm reverb.
@CloseTheDoorNathan Don't think so, but that was tracked with just 4x mics, and more than 18 months ago, so it's really tough to know for sure. If you take a look at our TLM102 microphone video (on drums) you can see how it was tracked, exactly (without the reverb). That being said, this reverb is truly revolutionary.
For me SP is the reference. Is always a pleasure to watch a new Sound Pure video. The SP concept put them miles away from your typical online store. You can almost became a pro watching this videos, and I bet even pros get kicked, now and then, with the results we see here. Even the products they sell give opportunity to small builders more concerned about quality then quantity.
@SoundWavesSurfer We really appreciate your kind words. You are so right on point with what we are trying to do, you sound like a spokesman for us! Thanks for watching, and we promise that we will continue to strive to make them even better.
@toynoise You just have to know Casey... he's actually really humble. He's extremely excited about his products, but he wants to take the approach "let them speak for themselves" rather than beeing an overtly vocal, or disengenuous used car salesman. Anyhow, we can do that for him! We have honestly never, ever heard a more accurate sounding acoustic reverb- this M7 is a monumental achievement, and one of the most important tools in our entire recording studio.
@toynoise It's rather shocking... honestly, it's the next level above existing convolution technology (in plug-ins). We have tested every reverb under the sun, just about, and in terms of sonic realism this one is unrivaled. The may sound cheesy, but this reverb actually changed our impression of what would be possible to attain in the world of digital effects. This one places you closer to a portfolio of real rooms and halls than anything has, ever before. So, basically, we love it!
@soundpurestudios "but he wants to take the approach "let them speak for themselves"
Amen to that, very refreshing in this day and age, especially in the music product industry.
Also random question and forgive my ignorance, but it seems this reverb is more applicable to acoustic instruments, where it needs to sound as realistic as possible. However, any idea how this sounds on electronic instruments? Can you really drive the unit if necessary to produce unrealistic reverbs aswell?
@Jez4prez It's actually a very good question- the realistic reverbs are simply "easier" to achieve, in a certain way, so we focused on those. Current Bricasti units shipping with the V2 firmware (available for free to all V1 users) pops in, and gives you access to a ton of the legendary "effects" reverbs, with the ability to push them even further. So, in short, yes, absolutely. It can be pushed to achieve very creative (and equally amazing sounding) results on electronics, etc.
@PurpleCatAudio Thanks for saying so- we did a pile of these vids, in case you want to check out some of the others... in the meantime, if you have any questions about this reverb, please don't hesitate to shoo them our way- we are using the Bricasti in our daily productions here at Sound Pure Studios. Life wouldn't be the same without it!
god, casey seems so bummed out that his bricasti is put on such a shitty source with a chicken shit on a digital console...things you do for promotion...
@147xxx Is your plan just to got to all of our videos and take jabs at us? Are you really an engineer, or a 12-year old pretending to be a pro... there are plenty of those on here for sure. Our interest in responding to each post is to genuinely help people. If you want to use it as some sort of forum to attack us, I suggest you move along. We have too much time invested in making these free videos the best that they can be, and answering each comment with a real engineering perspective.
@PhillipPark90 It is truly remarkable, and I can say quite honestly, that it is the finest reverb that I have ever encountered, and that is currently being built.
I don't know that we will have the exact kind of demos that you will be looking for, but listening to the reverb tails on all of the demos that we will do, simply using factory presets, will give you some idea of the way that these sound- remarkably natural and gorgeous.
We posted a new video yesterday, and will have more soon!
@PhillipPark90 What exactly did you have in mind? We are currently working on a few different demos that we will be releasing shortly... keep an eye out for those.
One thing that is so incredible about this thing is that it can take on a sound that has a room tone to it, and incorporate that naturally into the processed reverb- the result is a Reverb that can organically, and naturally process even over the top of naturally occurring rooms/reverbs without sounding weird.
@MrMutron In this case, it is an e609, actually. But it's a pretty good general purpose dynamic... sounds nice on guitars, but also works well on a variety of other sources, including snare. Good eyes. Please let us know how else we might be able to help.
@soundpurestudios I forgot to ask, what kick mic are you using? Audix D-6 or Sennheiser e902? And what position do you use (is it facing DIRECTLY at the batter head? ect.)?
@MrMutron In this case, we are actually using a Sennheiser MD 421 inside the kick. If you check out our youtube channel, you will see a variety of different kick drum mic placement techniques, utilizing a variety of microphones. We can definitely discuss any of these techniques or gear with you, if you'd like for us to help with your drum sound, or anything else in your recording process. Please don't hesitate to give us a call, toll free 888-528-9703, or email sales(at)soundpure(dot)com
@Reddigitalmusic Thanks a lot for commenting- yes, we honestly can't live without ours here... the units we are getting now have the V2 chips with the extra algorithm- amazing stuff! We hope to release some more "action videos" using the M7 before too long.
@Equestional Heheh, yeah... you could probably get one even sooner by selling a kidney! I might argure it's worth it! Depends how bad you want the best reverb out there!!!
The guy doing the product sales pitch seems like he's about to nod off to sleep. Totally annoying. Also, I can produce the same effect using Altiverb software without having to spend anywhere near the fortune this hardware presumably costs.
@audiotrax2000 Personal attacks aside (we are not professional spokes-people), you should really think about listening to the Bricasti M7 yourself. We had very much the same disbelief about the M7- Altiverb is great, and we use it here as one of the tools when the Bricasti is occupied on a track/bus. But, no, it cannot do what the Bricasti can do, not even close. The sense of depth, realism, preservation of detail on the Bricasti is a completely different level over the Altiverb sounds.
Guys why is there so much noise in the dialog?, In the previous videos Mr. Bricasti's voice had to be processed through noise reduction!, and the processing was sloppy at best. If part of the reason I'm going to buy from you guys is on the basis of your expertise, then you need to smooth out the rough edges.
@avalon747 Fair point... the Bricasti audio (the important part) is handled by our pro audio sales guys (legit recording engineers). The audio on Casey (from Bricasti), unfortunately, was handled by our camera guys, who admittedly screwed this up, royally. That being said, we personally felt like it was more important to get the video out since we only had two days with Casey here and all of the audio got screwed up on his voice (some problem with the wireless, and camera guy not taking care)
@avalon747 That being said, if you given us a call and spoken to one of us, you know that our audio expertise is first rate, honestly top in the industry. But your point is certainly taken. Hopefully, you would be willing to buy from us for this reason, and at the least that we are working hard to provide lots of free content online. Our youtube audience is supporting these rather expensive productions by doing just that. I hope we can work with you sometime in the future.
you need to get a real drummer that understands what the fk he is doing, because usually you guys have a descent player demonstrating something. The drummer looks and plays like he is retarded, I swear. BTW, this is not an insult directed at Soundpure, you guys are alright.
@dannycurtean hehe, thanks for the comment anyway. Actually this guy just came off of a world tour with a major band, and has played with many bands that we all know of. Probably wouldn't be cool to name-drop since he played for us as a favor, but maybe it was our fault for choosing a wierd segment. The mic'ing was super minimal, and completely unprocessed, since the focus of this video was the Brticasti, not the drums.
@soundpurestudios Whether the guy plays for U2 or gurns like a munchkin whilst playing the drums is irrelevant, the problem is in what he is playing, his random drumming sounds like someone throwing firewood down a set of stairs. Wholly useless when it comes to setting up a reverb unit. You need 32 bars of a simple solid beat or groove to be able to make any sense of the reverb unit.being tested.
@panfart Sory the drumming has been so polarizing... after all, what we are trying to do is put out a great, clear video that demonstrates the capabilities of the reverb, which is the focus of the video. What's in the reverb tail, and the way it handles attack and transients is what makes this one a notch above anything else that has ever been produced, and to our ears it accomplishes that. But, perhaps you are right, something more "straight ahead" will be more generally accessible.
Thanks for your videos guys, this is on my purchase list for early 2012.
