  • A dyson vacuum cleans up that quickly.

  • Do you know why I don't see vacuum cleaners branded Regina anymore?

  • @Daconthocon78 I think the Regina brand exists as a cheap house brand possibly at Home Depot, however the Regina company went bankrupt thanks to the poor quality of the later Housekeeper models, it was said at one point there were more returns at the factory then there were new ones to be sold. It was a decent design but a horrible cheap execution. Most vacuum cleaners today use the onboard tools that Regina Housekeeper came up with first.

  • @toyotaas which year did they went out of business.

  • 10$

  • @Mr250309 sorry... not interested

  • would you sell it

  • @Mr250309 make me an offer, I'll consider it...

  • i found one of those in the trash just now not knowing what it was so i am now throwing it away

  • What a perfect thing to say,

They are a piece of crap.

    Your dogs are awesome,

Have a good week,(What's left of it.)

  • @clubfoote1960 Thanks!

  • Shit my Kirby G4 can out clean that piece of crap!

  • That didn't do so hot

  • the early HK's aren't that bad; at least Regina was the 1st that came out w/onboard tools. I wuz surprised 2 c mine last 22+ yrs & still goin strong.

  • had one years ago and you are right. It was a piece of crap..Though back in the day, they did have a decent canister vac.

  • This vacuum bankrupted the Regina Company!

  • im guessing i should not buy one? lol

  • If i see a regina vacuum for sale i will buy it but i will not use it as often. I am a collector also.

  • that vacuum is Big

  • Saw one on Ebay

  • wikedlyeden (aka Kyle Krichbaum) has one and it looks like it would do a good job

  • whats funny, we had a housekeeper when i was growing up. we had the plus model. motor never let out but everything else was cheap plastic. as i recall the wheels rode on plastic axles. the axles wore out and the machine was impossible to push. the hose also broke. it was forever clogged with dog hair as well. it was a very cheaply built vacuum cleaner. i also remember another Regina product, the electric broom. Regina made mostly crappy low quality products.

  • When they were new, the Housekeeper's return rate was like 90%!!! They were awful!

At least a few have been saved/preserved for history

  • My kenmore whispertone upright(garbage picked) is better then that.

  • It might not be everyones favorite vacuum, but it is a classic none the less.

  • Nice vacuum but my garbage picked hoover preferred will out clean it any day.

  • The Regina's are getting scarce. I say good riddance. They had motors that were 'ok', but they were weak machines. The bags are getting hard to find as well.

  • I have to say, my grandmother bought the grey model of the Regina Housekeeper series (I'm not sure what model exactly, it's been about 15 years) but she was really happy with it, even though she bought it to replace her Heritage II that had died sucking up a tiny Lego. I guess the later models were crap.

  • aww i had one of these when i was a kid, except the logos were different

  • I guess not everyone is happier with a Hoover!

  • regina went out of bussiness in 1998

  • Hmmm, Regina went out in '98, isn't than when Oreck appeared -- makes one wonder??? It even looks sorta like a crappy Oreck. btw, I bet it is clogged inside where the beather bar ggets its suction, it should do better then that! I've seen many clogged underneath with pet furr or syro popcorn. Hard to get out too.

  • Man Our Kirby Heritage II would out perform that piece of crap hands down.

  • it sucks by not sucking!!! AWFUL!

  • yes but we had the belta modles here uk a blue and berry models blue on as scene on windtunnell footage av from currys 89 90 better designd

  • my dirtdevil handy can outclean that piece of crap

  • not to be rude or anything, but that is a horrid vacuum!

  • yes it is!

But it also has a place in history, good or bad, and should be preserved.

  • what a piece of junk!

    this isnt even a vacuum!

  • to add insult to injury, it was broken when I took it out of the box too...

    Thankfully it was fixable

  • wow that think stinks!

  • yeah, it really does, but the Housekeeper changed the upright vacuum, so for history and posterity there should be a few set aside.

  • this cleaner was made in 1987

  • Forgive my ignorance, I'm not familiar with this machine - what it about this cleaner that changed upright design?

  • Jack, the HOusekeeper was the first US upright model to have on-board tools.

  • there's been one of those at my local thrift store for months. it hasn't moved 1 inch! looks to be in really good condition.
