A stiff-wrist forkball has very little spin and it will drop AND break sideways when thrown properly. A stiff-wrist forkball is just as effective as a knuckle ball (and just as hard to master!), but the stiff-wrist forkball is easier for a catcher to handle. The beauty of the stiff-wrist forkball is that it may break like a curve, or it can break like a screwball-and it breaks very late.
This type of forkball is thrown in the high 70's as a changeup. It can be an effective pitch, but I think the circle change is a better option for most pitchers because it is easier on the elbow.
The stiff-wrist forkball is a much slower pitch (mid 60's), and it won't cause arm damage if thrown properly. The down side is that it is a very difficult pitch to control.
@19goalkeeper he didnt teach it right the splitter is gripped more on the seams between your fingers and it just drops at the plate but is faster a forkball is gripped with your two fingers deeply into the ball and at release point which you throw higher you snap your wrist making the forkball have little or no rotation and is like a breaking ball
i just want everyone to kno that you might pitch faster than him, but if you notice when he demonstrates the pitch on every vid it looks the same and ends up in the same spot. i mean dont get me wrong he makes great vids and helps you out. but stop sayin you pitch faster than him.
I see what u saying is like every pitch he throws it ends up in the same spot. So if u trying to impress somebody, you can't because it looks the same
DO NOT READ! A little over 20years ago a 12 year old boy was playing with his basketball in the street on Acto Street, NJ. Some teenagers who were drag racing on motorcycles weren't paying attention and ran him over and killed him. it is said that if you go on Acto Street, turn off your car, and blink your headlights 3 times you will see the figure of him bouncing the ball. Now that you have read this you must post this on 4 other messages in the next 10min, or you will die in an auto accident

MeSmashThings14 2 years ago
how hard are you supposed to throw it? throw fast like a slider or slower like a curve?
