  • I hate to break this to you guys, but that's not swing dancing. :-( Just doing some turns and some tricks doesn't make it swing. If you guys want to learn real swing dancing, I recommend starting off learning East Coast Swing, and then moving onto Lindy Hop, when you're ready for something more advanced.

  • @lindyhop411 yeah, unfortunately, turns and tricks are all highschoolers are interested in. The actual dancing aspect doesn't seem like something that would get our audiences hyped up for a football game or something similar. And we'd love to learn the actual dancing, but no one has the funds for actual classes, unless you want to somehow teach us. You keep telling us how much we aren't swing dancing, and you may be trying to help. but telling us this over and over isn't helpful

  • @Mertown Well, there's probably some swing dancers who live near you who would be happy to help out your club for free! Try googling your city/state and "Lindy Hop".

There's also lots of free online resources for learning more. If you search for "How to . . " (swing dance, charleston, lindy hop, etc) you can find a lot of instructional videos on youtube. I also recommend checking out the "jamcellar" channel, that has literally hundreds of instructional videos. :-)

  • @lindyhop411 k, well thanks for tips. I realize now I'd really like to learn the dancing aspect of Swing haha cuz I'm graduating this year anyway and I've noticed how much better Lindy Hop looks than just the stuff I've been doing.
