Fortuyn was an opportunist who (without knowing) had a strong apeal on lower society. For them he is a hero, but (like all ultra-right politicians) he was only interested in money for those who already have to much. After his death many of the socialy weak adopted him as their leader. -decentralisatie van scholen en ziekenhuizen

Ik vind het goed dat dit Engels is ondertiteld. Het gaat meer om het principe ervan dan de moord zelf. Iemand stond op om een land te veranderen, en de rest van de regering zorgde voor een situatie waarin hij zijn leven niet meer zeker was. En nu is hij dood.

bart-so many write to me saying that they never supported Pim but now see that he was correct, it is a phenomenal change. Pim Fortuyn was a populist and a racist. In Holland it is well known that he was a dirty homosexual pedofile. He said things a lot of simpel-minded wanted to hear. That's how he got popular. Fortuyn was an opportunist who (without knowing) had a strong apeal on lower society. For them he is a hero, but (like all ultra-right politicians) he was only interested in money for those who already have to much. After his death many of the socialy weak adopted him as their leader. I don't think Fortuyn would have been very happy with this.

I will be flying my Dutch flag at half-staff on that day, as I ended up unable to attend the march in Rotterdam. My God, it amazes me that it has been 5 years almost. I will never forget when the news came through that he had been killed. I cried for days.

Pim was a liberal who was murdered by a radical leftist. The left has gone so far left, that others less extreme on the left are branded fascist. Pim fought for liberalism against its onslaught by muslim extremism. Much of the left has allied themselves with a movement that is the antithesis of liberalism, proving the left is not liberal at all, but stalinist.

Ellwyn--Well, he did criticize the Left establishment, even calling liberalism it's own church (Linkse kerk), but I understand this fight all too well. In my activism I frequently run into liberals who think I'm far-right or other such nonsense, for only a few positions I hold. Pim fought against the socialists, and their maligning of him led to his demonization, as he stated.

He expressed ALARM at Dutchmen, immigrants or not, who disliked Dutch culture. He had Muslim friends, friends of all races, and black supporters. Even his protege had many black supporters. Pim was for the defense of secularism and he was against those who threatened this and other Dutch freedoms that had been fought for in the NL, as well as against politically correct hypocrisy.

uum, he did not express hatred for anyone. he simply stated that a large group of muslims were violating the moral rights of our society, such as opressing women and not tolerating gays. further he wanted to cut down immigration as cities were full of immigrants but there were no jobs left for them. he was a friendly guy and a very logical thinker.

Willem--exactly! A large immigrant population which remains poor and uneducated IS a problem, a permanent underclass. This was one worry of Pim's. And his concerns regarding immigrants not accepting their host country was apt. The rest of his LPF platform was more than sensible, and had nothing to do with Muslims at all.

Pim was not a rascist, he simply spoke out what was on EVERYONE's mind; immigration wouldn't be stopped the poor minority-groups were only getting larger and larger. That wouldn't benefit anyone. Fortunately after Pim died, all political parties adopted his immigration-policy, even the socialists did!

They deny it all, yet the articles they wrote about him still exist! One published the day of his murder! That is why THIS video was so important for me, so important to get subtitles onto. We need s many of these subtitled, as many are fascinated by Pim but held back by the language barrier.
