I still have it on VHS when it was originally shown on Channel 10 here on Australia.. Eye Of the Tiger for Hogan and T when i was 10 made this whole event great..:))
It's also funny to hear Ventura play it straight with his commentary. Normally, he would have been ridiculing Hogan, T, and Snuka! I guess Vincent did lay the law down!
This is being REALLY picky, but Beltmark, Wrestlemania aired on March 31, 1985, not 84. No big deal, but I just thought I'd mention it. No matter when, it was absolutely fantastic. I saw it live on closed circuit in St. Louis at the Kiel Auditorium.
Hogan claims he's shrunk 3-4 inches over the years, but look here, when he walks by McMahon, he's still only an inch or two taller---I smell B.S. from the Hulkster...
Wow! I never knew that, in Wrestlemania I, Hogan and T came out to Eye of the Tiger and Lauper/Richter to Girls Just Want to Have Fun. I've had the video tape since the 80s and it was always that other theme song. This changes a little history for me.
I used to love wrestling when I was a little kid. I wish it was still like this but now I would never take my little son to see WWE because it's turned raunchy...it used to be fun and entertaining.
@ESyDC thats disputeable but i really dont hate cena, the problem is that wrestling fans have basicly lost touch with good wrestling. Most are either kids who dont uunderstand it or attitude era fans who think that was the best kind of wrestling. The 80's were very cartoonish but the charicters were great and the storyline werent complete trash tv like they became in the attitude era. Ill take NWA 80's wrestling over anything that has the attitude logo slaped on it
OOOH, total respect you guys! I really REALLY think its disgusting to see how much money McMahon made with WWF/WWE yet refuses - REFUSES - to give us fans what we want; the ORIGINAL Hogan intro. I lived this (In Europe! We loved it too!) yet the DVD gets changed because they won't PAY for credits. Dumbos! Then again; there is a good reason why Wrestlemania 3 was the peak and from there on downwards :(
Amazing memories, simply amazing. These were the good old days of wrestling. Hogan, Roddy Piper, Arn Anderson, Paul Orndoff, Jimmy Superfly Snooka, Andre the Giant, Rick Flair, Sting, Lex Luger, Ricky Steamboat, Jake the snake Roberts, the Road Warriors, Jessie the body Ventura, Terry Funk, Dusty the American Dream Rhodes, Steve Austin, George the animal Steele, the Iron Sheik. Thank you for all the great memories fellas, thank you. Thank you for posting Beltmark
@Beltmark Vince is incredibly stubborn when it comes to his dubbing, he refuses to pay anyone else, if there's ANY way for him to get out of it, he will, even if it taints the experience of watching it----I unfortunately watched that shitty colisseum video long before I ever saw the true entrance, and wondered why the hell Hogan was coming out to the same music as the women wrestlers >:(
The Coliseum Video release used the same generic entrance theme for both Wendi Richter and Hulk Hogan. Coliseum Video also used the same generic music on their Wresting's Country Boys video release.
@qpalzmxnskwieudjcnvb The Gorilla Position is the staging area right behind the curtain at wrestling shows. The wrestlers wait to go out from there and are cued when to go and I believe the music is handled or at least cued from there as well. Gorilla Monsoon was in charge of that area for many years so it was named that in his honor.
Were is Rocky?

Wow. The 80s, Msg, Nyc, Wrestlemania, Hogan, T, and Snuka! With Eye of the Tiger blaring! Magical lol. Would of loved to have been there.

1980-1996 Wrestling was nice, classic, and all about wrestling
1997-2006 Wrestling is a soap opera of good vs bad and storylines
2008-2011 Nothing but a shitty family show that only gives Vince more money in his pocket when he sells merchandise

All of the WWE/WWF VHS and DVD releases have stock music... except one -- the "WrestleMania: The Collection 1985 - 1997 box set.
robjv1 1 year ago
On the VHS it's not this tune or Real American! The music I'm talking about was even in Wendi Richter's match.
ryanhitmanfury 1 year ago
@ryanhitmanfury Yeah the VHS release just had generic stock music, it was terrible.
Beltmark 1 year ago 5
@Beltmark. When I saw this and heard "Eye of the Tiger" as the entrance music, I thought it sounded edited but I guess I'm wrong!
ryanhitmanfury 1 year ago
@Beltmark actually the VHS has the theme from the cartoon.

@ryanhitmanfury that was coliseum video theme but this can be seen on the 1997 box set of wrestlemania all original footage

I assume Vince M is too tight to pay royalties so replaced this soundtrack with Real American on WWE video?

Sure is. Vince was always hanging around the gorilla position at old MSG shows.
