There is ONE Bush Doctrine, and those of us who work in IR know EXACTLY what it is. Any remotely competent presidential or vice presidential candidate should know it, too.

The Bush Doctrine is important because, like the Powell Doctrine, Truman Doctrine, or Monroe Doctrine, IT DEFINES A MAJOR U.S. POLICY STANCE!!!!!

Even if you were right, why didn't she ask, "Which one?"

The Bush Doctrine advocates the use of our military strength along with limited multilateralism (i.e. "coalition of the willing" as opposed to NATO- or UN-organized actions) to preempt potential future threats and promote the spread of democracy.

The most critical component, of course, is the "preemption" part, being that it goes far beyond the traditional policies of containment and deterrence and the usual standard of "clear and PRESENT danger."

When your lust for Palin eventually wears off, there is still McCain at the top of the heap. He wont always have Palin to prop up his wobbly legs and will have to pull up his own boot straps.
