@Lokiwho I work for Air New Zealand and I can tell you they are not that expensice and they can be reused but in a real evecuation they chosse not to as it may be damaged they all re under go a inspection before being placed back on the aircraft,

there was weird smell in the cabin so, we asked one of the flight attendants and she said it was normal then, about 15 minutes later the cabin started filling up with smoke and the masks fell down and that's when we turned around and came back to LAX.
what the hell are those crews doing there..?? how long is it taking to evacuate the plane...it shoul be done in less that 90 secnds... !!!!

Airplane slides are so expensive! Once one pops open it has to be replaced, its about 30thousand dollars.

i bet you have of them didint pay attention during the saftey demo...i'm guilty of that sometimes, but its good to know if ur not a frequent flyer.
