God I hate Fossil Fuel powered engines! Its a discusting waste of rescourses! Its hard to believe, man with their so called infinate wisdom has gone on for over a 100 yrs in the Automobile Fossil Fuel consuming vehicles. This planets doomed if humans cant figure out they are being played. Why did I even come to this discusting planet in the first place Fuck! I wanna go back home! I dont see what Aquarious High Command sees in these stupid Humans at all! We should let you destroy your planet
This is a very nice car. I have a 1979 928 non-turbo but I don't know if it runs or not. I got it in a trade for my '73 Benz (which did run). I went on the word of my friend that the car does run but haven't had the time, money, or key to find that out. It sits beside my '83 944 non-turbo which runs but needs many things
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
@coandcaiv You are thinking of the 924, but the van engine was a myth, 924 used an audi engine ( hardly cheap) and it was fitted with a porsche head and fuel injection.
this is a 928 5 litre v8, same shape as 924 and 944 but a bit more bulky, this is a long distance supercar...
last 928 made was at the time the fastest car in the world.
924 turbo was the fastest 2 litre engine car in the world when it was also made.
There actually not to exspensive I own a 1982 Porsche 928. You can get parts any where the only thing that was exspensive on mine was the front and rear brake rotors. Most european shops can fix this Porsche cheaper then the Porsche dealer plus dealers always rip people off. But if your worried about being exspensive you can fit a chevy small block engine in the car. The insurance on mine is really cheap and this is my third Porsche.
thanks! the upkeep costs depend on what's been done to the car lately. if it needs a new timing belt or tires, then yes, that stuff is expensive. if not, then you shouldn't have to do anything with it. if you're thinking about buying one just take it to a porsche mechanic first to make sure the big stuff has been done...
My Dad had the same car, same color and same interior didn't like the bucket seats though.
