  • I'd love to be able to take this seriously, but I can't. Repetitive, unimaginative and blatantly sentimental - I can appreciate the attempt at 'hopeful melancholy', but Richter goes way too far here. Too obvious and violent to be adequately minimalistic, yet too simple to be anything 'more'. As a film score this would probably be quite effective, but as a purely audial experience barely so-so.

  • @Adaviri cool story bro

  • @Adaviri This is first and foremost a score. It was specifically written for a ballet. It is "blatantly sentimental" for a reason; he wasn't trying to be subtle.

  • I have't cried about anything in the last 7 years. The only thing that me make me shed a tear is music like this.

  • In love with this. And with you.

  • brings out all them gay emotions

  • i feel bad for those that don't feel this.

  • I like to listen to this when I'm doing science.

  • I can think of a time that the Earth will have days this short and this precise. Days that will overwhelm you with satisfaction of sincerity. Days that are whole and not forgotten. Days with events parallel to the joy that this bestows. Days with elements as light a feathers. Days in which love and passion are the counter balances. ...THEN "LAST DAYS"!

  • It blows my mind how such repetitive melodies can be so mind-boggling beautiful. I never heard of Max until I was listening to one of my favorite composers (Josh Kramer) on iTunes one day and a genius recommendation came up for Henry May Long. How did I live without this awesome music so long?!

  • this is a beautiful, full of magic and i cant wait to learn the choreography for this song tomorrow:)

  • What genre would this be called? Something other than just classical?

  • @silasreade modern classical

  • @sirdond I file it under 'ambient' myself, but modern classical works too

  • @silasreade I don't know maybe minimalist?

  • @silasreade i think modern orchestral

  • @silasreade It is Contemporary Classical Music

  • @xnolion82 Thanks!

  • Absolutely gorgeous!

  • wondrous, haunting, beautifully complex, pulls you to somewhere beyond yourself, to.......joy.

  • There is something both hopeful and sad about this song. Words rarely do a melody justice, but in my crude attempt to interpret verbally I shall say this: Beautiful and haunting...

  • man this song just made my day better thanks max

  • I saw Max Richter and his quintet perform this earlier in the month and was so moved by it. They played with such beauty, I sat in the front row, holding my breath.... And they all rocked the Converse hi-tops. Hell yes. that's just how Richter rolls.

  • This is my favourite music from the ballet Infra. Yay.

  • more than beautiful

  • WOOOW

  • couldn`t wait to get this on vinyl for my sweet hifi...sitting on the sofa...getting blasted a-way....

  • @BirthTrashDeath That sounds so good and you are so awesome.
