  • OMG

  • is this a complicated guitar to tune with allt he selections etc etc

  • Great, but keep doin that and your strings are gonna get fuckin slack plus the neck is gonna start to bend a bit

  • Gibson is outta touch.

  • The truss rod in those guitars must be pissed, getin' all warped... XD

  • it is so cool I even tuned my guitar right now lol

  • this guitar sucks, gibson stopped focusing on the sound of the guitar, thanks Fender, your guitars sound great, and look cool

  • @Kreason95 all a matter of taste

  • @nathanmcdable not really they really have stopped focusing on the way their guitars sounds, i will always love classic gibson, but robot guitars? really? what the heck

  • @Kreason95 in many ways i agree with you, i really hope it doesnt go any further but guitars like the firebird x are taking it to far into a technological route. but the sound of a standard gibson les paul -to me- is so much warmer than that of a stratocaster. but strangely enough i own both les paul and tele, i find tele are the best form of fender. This is what i meant when i said matter of taste literally just the sound it gives.

  • Have you had any problems out fo the DarkFire tuning system?

Ive been thinking about buying one of the older Robot LesPauls.

If you have the money honey.

  • the great thing tho about it being expensive is that most likely it would fall into the hands of more experienced musicians who understand what it takes to tune a guitar normally. If any person learning to play guitar picked that up, i feel like they'd rely on it and it'd defeat the purpose of acutally learning how to tune you know? so in the hands of an experienced guitarist, It would be incredibly useful like switching from Zep to Guns in the middle of a concert without needing two guitars

  • it makes me wonder if its really worth it to pay one and a half thousand dollars more so i dont have to turn those knobs myself but HOLY FUCK THAT IS AWESOME

  • I love the gibson's Technology

  • That's witchcraft I tell ya!

  • It seems like it's alive :D

  • fuck you you aren't a good musicians

  • Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!

  • looks funny^^

  • holy crap this is insane

  • shit!!!!

  • can you tune the guitar itself and use it like a traditional les paul if you feel like it? (I know it defeats the purpose but sometimes you want the feel of a normal paul)

  • @xiiiDethroned

    yes,no problem.

  • wow. simply wow.

  • WOW!!

  • *drools*

  • are people to fucking retarded and lazy to tune it themselves fuck

  • sounds like someone is jelous

it doesnt take skill to manually tune a guitar, so if something can assist in getting it done faster, then let it happen

  • @Standoman6546 I think the idea is that you can easily change tunings within a song, say from standard to open A and back.

  • @Standoman6546 you are a dumb shit, its more than that, it can imitate an acoustic guitar, and it has so many more functions lyk differnet tones at the control of your will, it also saves so much time if you are playing 1 song in 1 tuning then have to change so stop baging out gibson and the people rich enough to own 1 DUMB SHIT!!!!

  • @Standoman6546 no actually they did that for live performances so that way the crowd doesnt have to wait or if u dont know wat the strings are tuned to u can auto do it and then get a tuner to find out

  • holy CRAP! THATS INSANE

if only they had one for bass....

  • Woah. It tunes itself.

  • 'tee hee ... ^_^

  • The guitar is fucking possessed. It will kill you in your sleep

  • keep it

    original

  • How thick is the neck...I mean theres got to be a lot of wires running through that thing.

  • No wires running through the neck!!! The STRINGS are the wires....

  • hey man i just upgrade my stings on my dark fire to tens how to i adjust the action on it would u know ...cus i cant figure it out and i get alot of buzzing...

  • @tonidarosa You mean u nead special strings for it? Dont they break

  • @MrJackanthony : No special strings, any steel strings work.

  • @tonidarosa thanks.

  • @tonidarosa well then what the fuck spins the tuners? theres gotta be motors to do that, and that would require wires.....

  • @THEinspectigator , no wires at all, the STRINGS are the wires...

  • @tonidarosa so you're saying that the guitar strings carry the electrical current neccesary to provide power to the motors that spin the tuners? does that mean that you'll get shocked if you play while its tuning?

  • @carbiduis No shock at all, the current is stepped down... by the way, the strings carry the data for the tuning pegs, too. Thats the only way to get a real retrofit tuning system without the need of ANY destructive or invasive action...no extra drilling or even milling is required.

  • @tonidarosa The downside to this though is if the string breaks the current and data wont get to the tuner....

    ba boom ching !

  • @trulynot

No, because E, D and B strings carry GND and A, G and e strings carry power (stepped down) and data. If more than three strings brake, then I doubt it makes sense to continue playing without replacing those ;-)

  • @tonidarosa I want one of these. It also does guitar modelling is that right ?

  • @trulynot

    yes, thats correct.

    Contact Gibson for more information.

  • @tonidarosa won't we get electrocuted??

  • that has to be terrible for the tension on the strings and neck of the guitar

  • its made for that you fucking retard. you dont think they took that into consideration while producing it? it wouldnt sell if the neck was bending. and ur supposed to change strings often anyway so that really doesnt matter.

  • thanks for informing me while being a douchebag at the same time.

  • within few years this self-tuning robotic thing will apply to all guitars -.-

  • i agree

  • you are right

  • OmFg sold out u lucky bastard

  • If robotic guitars go the way of calculators, cd players and computers, pretty much all the guitars will eventually tune themselves automatically like this one.

  • its a robot guitar but it costs 3500 bucks

  • OH MY GOD! That sounds AMAZING! really nice clean tone

  • what the fuck......did it just tune itself

  • Yeah it does that its like a les paul robot lol dont believe you didnt know this :P

  • THIS IS THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVERY SEEN! Awesome!! I love it... too bad I don't have $3500 or how much it costs. It's really expensive, but after use it shows what makes it so epic.

  • OMFG awesome

  • yeh, stop fiddling with your knob...sorryy it had to be said, i love the guitar

  • thats amazing

  • you're going to snap your damn strings fiddling with that knob!

  • other than the g-1275, this is the most badass guitar ever!!!!

  • people say it sounds like shit but I say it is a big jump up from the original robot guitar it sounds fine to me

  • No, string snapping is not a problem as there is a "zero friction nut". Its a special new material they use, kind of teflon... the more pressure, the more the strings slip. This makes the tunings very stable.

  • does it use battery or what?

    that cant be magic

  • Yes, there is a rechargeable battery pack in the electronic compartment. The power and the commands for the servo pegs are sent up via the strings to the neck.

  • Is re stringing this any different than re stringing a regular LP style stop tail?

  • yes, its much easier and faster. There is a string up mode implemented, it takes only 3 to 5 minutes to restring the complete guitar.

  • god dammit.. can someone fuking tell me how much it is

  • like $3000 U.S

  • o ok.. this is like the sweetest guitar ever

  • $3,600

  • who gives a shit how it tunes I CANT FIND A VIDEO OF SOMEONE ACTAULLY PLAYING IT.

  • Comment removed

  • Remind me to kill you and rob you blind later

    LUCKY SON OF A B**CH!!!

    :D

  • Just what i was going to say :P

  • I WANT TO STOLE U THAT GUITAR IS AWESOME >D xD

  • too much power for just one man

  • O_O"

    OMG

  • I would like one in black please!

  • you would have 2 buy a gibson robot, cuz darkfire's only in red

  • my god that's amazing =0! i really really want one now

  • thats pretty awesome big ups to Les Paul who comes out with all these different sounding guitars every year

  • I'm 14 and I can tune a guitar perfectly in any tune I want but I don't see anything wrong about this thing. yeah, a player who doesn't know how to tune a guitar will be screwed if someone hands him another type but I'd love to have one of those so I could stop having to use my ear and lose 5 minutes everyday to tune my guitars. By the way, could annyone tell me how this system works?

  • The system is developed by a company called Tronical.

Under the knob there is a electronic unit which sends signal wireless to a receiver behind the headstock. The receiver also works as power source and control for the machine heads motors.

  • unbelievable piece of work

  • I've seen so money guitarists criticise the Darkfire because they say it undermines the artistry of a guitarist by not tuning it themsleves. That kind of logic really annoys me. I bet most of those critics own an electric tuner. The truth is, the robot technology makes perfect sense and I can't wait till I receive my Darkfire. I'll be able to switch in a moment from concert tuning to the half step drop that Guns n Roses use. No more annoying tuning!!! How exciting.

  • Completely agree!

Do not forget the tone variety and digital output capabilities.

    Keep on rocking, man! :)

  • Oh

    My

    Fucking

    God

    How

    The

    Hell

    Does

    That

    Work?

  • Its a on board computer or "robot" that tunes it self and tunes it for drop too

  • I think the Les Paul Robot was the first self tuning guitar. It must be awesome, not having to tune everytime you wanna play a different song with different tuning.

  • Don't you mean 'forged in the dark fires of hell' ? You have your Abrahamic Neverlands muddled up.

I've just bought one on Ebay. Cost me $3099. Gutting because just when I bought it, another one came up for $2625!!!

  • dont mess with it too much or else your gonna be screwed

  • Very true, I wonder what the true durability of this thing is.

  • holy shit! look at the tuning pegs move!!

  • I think I'd rather have a Les Paul Supreme.

  • i rather a 58 or a 59 ri, even though they are more expensive

  • I WANT ONE SOOOOO BAAAD!!!

  • i just got 2 dark fires!!!!! (one used one new) and i have to say... amazing guitar!

  • i'd be s**t scared if I got my Dark Fire and changed the tunings because I'd be scared if the strings snapped! Does anyone know if you can snap them strings easily?

  • It has a Teflon nut to stop string snapping.

  • oh right, thanks!

  • OK, I was gonna say. That is like the fastest way to break strings ever.

  • the nut is lubricated

  • that's just fucking nice :D

  • špinaa :D:D

  • I have a question about the "robot" tuning things if anyone can answer I'd appreciate it...how are you going to go from standard tuning to drop c or b and use the same strings? it's going to sound like ass if you use 9's or 10's on lower tunings, and if you use 12's or higher it's gonna sounds really thick and be hard to bend in standard...unless you can piezo it and have the electronics change the tunings? in which case it prolly fucks with the sound equally as bad...anyone...???

  • how much is it? This is gonna take me forever to save money for it.

  • actually, it's only around 2,500 dollars, but they are extremely rare and all of them have probably been sold already.

  • gibson are making more of them you know

im in scotland and theres 4 at my local shop so they aint that rare

  • Rap is bad in general.... rappers r relizing how god guitar really is and takeing it from us and useing guitar in the gay rap songs so thats just more music we ant make with guitar. also because they cant think of anymore beats that arent taken even tho they all sound the same...

  • haha taking it from us? dude im sorry but you are making sound white people like big pussies..rap is a form of music regardless if you like it or not..and yes the industry has started to produce a lot of harmonics with guitar sounds in them because it jus sounds cool..shit i appreciate it when other types of genres and even ppl learn to appreciate the god damned power of the guitar..amen!

  • omfg what a guitar

  • Beutiful Guitar. Are Dark Fire's limited edition or can you buy them in any year you like?

  • its limited edition....i think gibson only made 2000 of them

  • did lil wayne ply this in the vid prom queen?

  • Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was one of these beauts.

  • I think so. Horrible song though. Lil Wayne does not deserve one of these beutiful guitars.

  • i agree 100 percent

  • torontont

    Lil Wayne sucks ass

Rock is the music of the gods

  • i know he sucks, i just said if he used that guitar in the video...thats it

  • LIL Wanye has to suck guys all night because he dosent make enough money from his so called "music" career!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lil wayne is gay!!!!!!!!

  • where does the power for this thing come from? the jack? cos that sort of thing must take a lot of electricity lol (sorry if that sounds stupid... i've only been playing for 5 months and i barely have a clue of how guitars work lol)

  • jonas bros suck hairy condoms

  • i saw one of the jonas brothers play this guitar...

    i don't understand it

why do assholes like him get these for free and don't???

    WHY!!!!!?????

  • can't agree with you more man

  • Because America loves christian teen, born-in-a-disney-lab sellouts......sad but true

  • you got that from The Onion didnt you

about them being born in a lab

  • One of the Jonas brothers plays this guitar ?! Oh my god !

what is the song please ?!

  • Wow, just leave this video please.... I'm pretty sure you're the only one here who likes the jonas brothers.

  • Who said that I loved the Jonas Brothers ! Nobody !

I don't see why you say this !

  • i hate the jonas brothers i agree they defenitly dont deserve it

  • R U SERIOUS THEY SHOUDNT PLAY GIBSONS.

  • I would be afraid that the strings might snap with the fast addition of tension when the thing mindlessly jumps up four or five half-tones because you asked it to :-P

  • I guess that's why they use a self-lubricating nut and saddles.

  • imagine if they take it too far and the guitar plays whatever u want it to

    all u gotta say is

sweet child o mine- guns n roses please

and u dont even have to play it

    everything is automated

  • Get an mp3 player.

  • so cool

  • OMG .....who you gonna call!!!

  • GHOSTBUSTERS !!

  • lol

  • fapfapfapfap

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOOW!!

  • gay

  • that is the coolest fucking thing i have ever seen in my life

  • i agree

  • thats amazing

  • why?

  • the tuning heads are moving lol

  • wouldn't this be murder for the neck & truss rod?

  • youre probably right on that, it needs a zero tension neck to keep it from hurting it which im sure they didnt even put carbon fiber rods to help with it much less use a zero tension neck design. It would be great if all the technology around could be used together but gibson wants to keep anyone from actually being able to use it the stuff where it will be effective because they have to make even more money out of guitars they wont think out. I wont play gibsons unless i have to, this is why

  • afaik it has some sort of teflon bridge, so that there is almost no friction, leading to - what you call - zero tension. similar at the saddle.

  • no, my bet. i was somehow thinking about something different. i still believe, gibson would not make a guitar, that is predestined to have customers running back to the shops because of twisted necks. this would be warranty issues that are costly for the company.

  • unless gibson are so evil so that if the warranty was say, 3 years, the guitars always go out fo whack after 4 :P

  • a zero tension neck has nothing to do with the bridge, it is in the neck itself. trekker guitars manufactures them but i don't know for sure who invented it. what it does is takes all the tension from the strings and takes it off of the neck wood so it has no tension. friction in the bridge would help keep it in tune, not protect a truss rod

  • You mean zero friction, right?

  • yes, that's what i meant

  • I doubt it.

Think of floyd roses...you can completely release or double the string tension momentairally.

  • I think it would be ok if someone took the precautions to keep the neck straight but completely thinking it wont have any effect would be what would make the neck go out of whack. The neck should be set with your most used tuning, and shouldn't be kept out of that tuning for long periods of time. A person with this guitar should learn to set up the neck, and check it often and they would be fine.

  • maybe they should combine that with the correct truss rod tension aswell

  • i can only imagine

  • Cheez - even after 40 years of playing I still wince when tuning up strings to pitch - specially that ruddy top E string! To do this at speed I'd want safety goggles on. This looks better than the Robot , but it still doesn't have the class of a custom '57 VOS.

  • to be honest its not the most beautiful thing on the planet .. there are better les pauls to be honest .. just my opinion

  • i'd much rather have a standard 59' les paul

  • duhh lol

  • I'm sure that future Gibson guitars will be able to play themselves, just by selecting the song! :P

  • That;s gotta be hard on strings.

  • Holy shit :O Nice :D.. anyone got any idea of the price hehe :P

  • whatt????

    that guitar is amazing!!!

and it has a killer look!!!

  • But if it tunes to different tunings (LOL) wouldn't that mean it's harder for it to STAY in tune? Does it use a locking nut?
