  • wow seems like everyone thought obama was gonna save things... haha, just shows ya everyone can fall for a lying politician... it hurt to be lied to by bush, yet you knew he was lying straight through his teeth and giggles... yet i beleive it hurts more to be lied to by a man like obama cus then it shows you another way to be lied to by in a way that may make EVERYONE truly lose faith in humanity.... cus now we cant tell whos lying to us or if everyone is lying all the time no matter what! SAD

  • does anyone remember when ani was an anti-war progressive?

  • i love ani. wrong about obama. of course, everyone was. nothing WILL EVER CHANGE. the game is rigged. they will destroy everything before We gain the upper hand ever again. game over. give up. have a great day.

  • @aaronbrakefield wow! now thats cynicism. you have fallin for nihilism. it is indeed a bleak moment, but there has been bleak moments before in this country; 1860

Ab Lincoln came calling, 1901 teddy, 1933 FDR and the new deal, things can change, but it depends on what we do. we have to atleast go down swingin.

  • @mmantech This is very true. but they have been working a really long time to gain the enormous power they now wield. the general population during those eras, although less information was available, still questioned their leaders decisions in dire times and didnt have near the level of political ignorance and apathy as the common individual these days. when more people vote for a bullshit tv show contestant than vote for the president, its time to pause and reflect. no one is doing either.

  • @aaronbrakefield i agree. the ruling class does have a strangle hold on our lives. they control the media, which means they control everything we see, hear, and read. they have infiltrated the education system to dumb us down. shipped all the blue collar jobs overseas. they control the government(including the courts). but if we the people wake up out of the sleepwalking and mimic the abolitionist, the sufferage, the labor, the civil rights movements, then maybe we can do it.

  • @mmantech agreed. that would take nothing less than a miracle in my opinion, but i suppose its possible. i have tried talking about this very subject to numerous friends and colleagues and i am constantly met with the "conspiracy nut" lingo which quickly turns to a general contempt which they hold me under. like im trying to upset some nonexistent perfect balance. as long as the public stay in their little safe invisible prisons, we will never be anything close to truly independent.

  • yeah right! We all thought that

  • i am not impressed by her opinon on Obama. Sounds like she drink the kool aid.

  • Change yet? Not yet! Why?? Type in "The Obama Deception" (full length) on youtube. It's an excellent film with: Hip Hop Artist KRS-One, Dennis Kucinich, Foremost Trends Forecaster, Gerald Celente, Willie Nelson, Rap Artist Professor Griff, Economist/Author George Humphrey, Historian/Geo Political Analyst Webster Griffin Tarpley, Alex Jones & more! "It's NOT about Left or Right; it's about a Global Gov't."

  • alex jones fan mee too but lets talk about ani di franco, i like her but not her poltics

  • Well, well, well, even the great Ani DiFranco gets it wrong sometimes. She's talking out her ass. Making it up as she goes along.

She doesn't even really say anything.

  • Look past the charismatic face, lift the veil... Obama is a warmonger, a corporatist, a subsidizer of billionaire bankers. He is continuing torture and rendition. He is using Blackwater more than Bush did. He is continuing the practice of capturing and detaining people indefinitely without due process. He is continuing the unconstitutional warrantless wiretapping and spying. He is continuing business-as-usual corporate welfare shoveling. It's time to wake up, friends. Watch "The Obama Deception"

  • What a horrible way of filming her, interview is awesome though.

  • no she's spot on. her state-mate Palin is a pawn as she says ... Obama is rockin right on. and di Franco is Italiana!

  • i'm starting to think Obama is in the same club as every president after kennedy-- the corporatist military industrial club.

  • I was just at a Difranco concert in Victoria BC tonight and she sang this song about how great Obama was, after the song was done I couldn't help but yell out that he's done nothing but expand the wars, is making American tax payers pay for forced abortions in Africa and then someone started telling me the "shut the f*$& up". Out of respect for the people there I did but why can't she see that he's not who he said he was, he was put in power by the banks and is no better then Bush was. WAKE UP!

  • oh brother... so idealistic and dull

  • She got carried away like so many. So naive, who would've thought.

    Obama IS corporatism.

  • Ani is great. I think she's pretty wrong about Barack though. He pulled the same tactic as Reagan did: counteracting a disastrous predecessor with optimistic platitudes. Look at the bailouts: Obama and his cabinet are still pawns of international finance.

  • I love it! Go Ani!!! Palin was strutted out and pimped.. when she did speak her own voice she sounded like an idiot, and the rest of the time they just had her using her accent saying "terrorist!"

Call it like it is Ani!!! And you are more radical than Obama, but that's ok too... I'm not as liberal as you are, hell, I'm a white attorney... But I agree on a lot! You go girl!!! (as if you're reading this!)...

Cheers everyone... Give peace a chance! Give Obama a chance... Haters go away!

  • Wow..I used to like her... but calling another woman a "ho"? Not that I like Palin.. in fact, I really don't like her. But damn! You're a public figure and you're gonna go around saying that other people are hos? geez... not very eloquent.

  • She meant it metaphorically.

  • i do not wish to impose anything upon you but she did mean it as Marley says "Metaphorically". She was basically saying that she is submissive and oppressed to the republican party which is now proven fact.

  • Impose? Haha. Don't worry about it.

  • Listen to the full context of what she's saying. Ani was completely on point about Sarah Palin. She was a complete tool used by the Republican party.

Why is everyone on the right accusing Barack Obama of choosing Sonia Sotomayor as an "affirmative action pick" when it is absolutely clear the main reason the Republicans chose her is because she's a woman?

    Pot, kettle, black.

  • "When Obama speaks I just want to stop and listen." I am sad to hear that you can be lulled so easily by a silver tongue.

  • I perfectly agree. So, is she so gullible?

Or is she one of the many Zionist voices which rage throughout the world to promote the image of Obama as an innocent (and charmy, that's the disgusting!) lamb, while actually he is a black raven announcing death in a soft proclamation, with a "silver tongue"?!

  • She's as gullible as ever. As I commented before, I was just at her concert and she sang about how great he is and then when I yelled out (after the song) that he's sent 20.000 more troops to the middle east her reply was that "He's not perfect and what she likes to ask people who oppose Obama is what are they doing". Needless to say I wasn't able 2 reply as people were telling to "shut the f up". This video was when he was first coming into office and she's still blinded by the false paradigm

  • Ani's just herself...you iether love or hate what she's saying at any given time. She says whats on her mind at that minute. I admire and respect her honesty. She wouldnt call herself anything, not at this age...her whole career she's been expected to be a certian way...stop expecting anything and just enjoy the beauty of raw emotion, fully engaged.

  • I love this woman. And I love her Palin metaphor.

  • I think Ani's lyrics are smart so I listened to the interview and her pol views are smart too. I would encourage Ani to think why she likes to listen to Barack and not other pols. I think anyone who listens to his 2 excellent audiobooks (one a grammy winner) will see why. Barak is what I call an "ACE" leader - analytical, circumspect and erudite. Ani you are an ACE leader as well keep putting your views out there.

  • I love and respect Ani.

But I'm afraid that she, like so many others, is being mislead and fooled by this Obama deception. He has filled his cabinet with CFR, Bilderberg, & Trilateral Comission. The same war mongering policy makers who have been running our government for decades. Look behind the scenes. Research.

    Cynthia Mckinney for President!

  • i Just laughed my ass off. Ani is so wonderful. I love that she called sarah a hoe! Ani has so much talent and is so well spoken and then she dumbs it down for the rest of us once in awhile and uses a word like hoe!

  • And she did it in a way that was actually somewhat respectful of Sarah as a person (at least, that's how I took it). I could not have been so "sparing" of SP's character. Ad'F A good role model.

  • She is the best!!!

  • Ani for president!

  • I AGREE.

  • I love this woman. She's so right on everything she says and she's gorgeous.

  • She is soooo dead on about Palin. The Republicans just brought her on as what they thought was a "ringer" for the woman's vote. I am all about having a woman in office, but hopefully it will be a woman who is smart, and self reliant and someone I can be proud to tell my daughter to look up to. Palin, H CLinton, not so much. I just want a "good" person in office. Obama reflect change...male or female, he is about the right things!

  • his cabinet consists of the same old people, like brzezinski who created al-qaida and backed Pol Pot in Cambodia, killed 2 million of his own, and gates who was his assistant and bushs' secretaryu of defense.

C'mon Republocrats, lets really look at things all over...End the FED

  • ani for president!!!!

  • That was a good blurb from Ani, thanks.

  • agreed, i just lost alil respect for her their, Obama is same old same old, because someone makes u wanna listen doesnt make him any good, just smooth which is..... scarier

    Abolish the Federal Reserve!

  • men, so much sense in her words. so much practicality, down to earth energy. so much love and hope.

  • "She's a ho," and "I'm sure she's a very nice lady," lmfao. Ani we love you. Seriously I wonder sometimes what kind of woman I would be without her.

  • I could listen to Ani talk politics all day.

  • really, she sounded like all the other analysts on tv talking about how good "so-n-so" is at coming off this way or that way.. trickey, look at the cabinet, GMO's anyone?? C.F.R.? google it

  • Love you Ani :)

  • That was pretty dead on what I think of Palin as well. So glad she's out of the running!

  • gosh she is so right about palin.

  • obama surely is far better than Mccain, but his foreign policy is not a huge departure from Bush/Mccain. He voted for Patriot Act, Wiretapping, and may want to go into Pakistan and stay in Iraq. I think we liberals all need to keep a healthy dose of skepticism and criticism of Obama on foreign policy. I just hope that we won't be blind and support Obama wars just because he speaks eloquently.

  • I love how she calls palin a ho man that was hilarious and so true
