@MrMicroSCT for the class 37 try LMS in maroon livery, which usually go with the Duchess of Hamilton/Norfolk. And smokey joe go for the 4 wheel branch line coaches in green or you could re-paint them in black livery.
@mongoosekid14 - this model takes 8-pin DCC chips. I had fitted it with the Hornby R8249 chip. The basic DCC chip from Hornby. It more than does the job.
I got this one an hour ago! Please can i ask does your make more noise when its going round corners? 'Cause mine sounds like its come off the track when it goes round a corner. just in case it helps you my corners are third radius.
@SuperJimjoe - mine doesn't make any noise when it goes round corners. Check all the wheels are on properly. IF they are and it's still making a noise it could be something else such as detail getting in the way of the wheels of bogies, or possibly even something to do with the motor or driving axels.
I'm getting a Vitrains class 37/4. The only difference that I can see between the one you got and the one I'm getting is that it has slightly different ends. I can't wait and it was a bargain of the Hattons website. Great video by the way.
I have a choice between two trains that i should get could you help me out one is a class 37 and the other is a 47 both from vitrains so which one do you think i should get please relpy
The lack of any decent tail lights could have an advantage, because when pulling freight it wouldn't look unprototypical with tail lights still on like on other models on the market.
What do you know - my favorite diesel loco :) Make sure your blue-tac is pressed down because those snow ploughs will tare it up - then the track - and then that lovely wooden floor! - WHAT A BEAST!
Class 37 in my humble opinion is the KING of all engines as i grew up with these trains as a boy and used to sit in my local station for hours just to get a glimpse of this beuty......last time i saw one a few years ago it still sent a shiver down my spine.
@class37trash - I'm sure you'll be able to afford one if you save for it. Locos like these are always coming out so they'll always be around for when you can get them
@mattbozi89 - haha, well it can make it a bit loud too, especially when there's 3x trains all running at once. So it'll be good to get a bit of piece and quiet from the proper layout :)
thanks, Im guessing this video was a result of me nagging you all the time. I have now got this train and its very smooth and powerful, its a shame about it being noisy and the back lights not easily viewable.
@dan89876 - the ballast wagons that feature in this video are the Hornby Model Railways 2 axle MHA Coalfish open wagon in EWS livery - model code: R6216
This is good what do you think you will do on your board layout you will be making becuase it would be good if you are going to make so its country sideish or make it like the Settle & carlisle line would be nice
@InterCity82 my dad got me it as my christmas present and they don't seem to have any pictures of it i suppose the shop had it as a special edition and i was supposed to say that class 37s are powerfull !
i want ur class 37 hehe

What Coaches would go with Class37 and what coaches would go with the smokey joe?
P.S. and wagons!
MrMicroSCT 4 months ago
@MrMicroSCT - neither are coach pullers really. Both are meant to pull freight. So if you really wanted them to pull coaches, absolutely any will do.

What I like about this one is how youre wooden floor makes the sounds of the locos much more amplefied bet its tempting just to leave it down there.
