  • Hey I have a question, some people say the lead channel on this amp is the same as channel 2 on the newer Kucklehead Reverb amps, is this true?

  • Absolutely gorgeus tones and very versatile setting. When I'll went for ampshopping the next time need to check this one out. Would be so damn hot in wine red, organge or emerald green tolex.

  • How does the Fandango compare to the Rake?? Great demo by the way....

  • Thanks for the great explanation and demo of this amp. I would be interested in checking one out in person. Thanks again.

  • Great demo ... I bought Mark Tremonti's Fandango a few years ago .... great amp! Glad you took the time to go through all the settings you use ... great advice .. nice tone ...

  • Really good review thanks. Quiana as well? Would like to hear a side by side comparison. Great sounding amp.

  • I think it sounds too muddy, no clarity. maybe its your microphone?

  • how loud is this compared to a fender deville 2 12 thats what i have now

  • @skillet000red

They're both 60w so at top volume they should be about the same. The Rivera has a much better pre amp section and can do the high gain thing at extremely low volumes. It doesn't need to be loud to sound killer.

  • @redplanetmedia k thanks i was just wondering since its a 1 12 but i use a distortion pedal on the fender because it really cant do the high gain thing haha

  • i loved the last tone demonstration

  • Great demo showing different settings for various styles, you make it look so simple. I'd like to see how you set it up to use hands off with the foot switch. Thanks

  • Matt, great demo--just wished you would have kicked in a lilttle blues---Have been considering a Rivera for a while now.

  • Matt - what are your thoughts on the Venus 5 versus the Fandango?

  • @edtube3000

The Venus 5 is much more aggressive on the lead channel. Definitely designed to be a hard rock amp. Still very versatile but it doesn't do the warm, Marshall tones like the Fandango.

  • wow, I a impressed by its versatility, yop and a very sweet demo Matt...you made me want this amp...how much do they go for/ avaiable in Europe?

    Addie

  • Hey Matt, is this thing stock? I've had about 7-8 rivera's and this Fandango is the first one I've had a problem dialing in. Are the tubes in the one you were playing stock? It almost feels like a lag in response to my picking. Kinda has a wierd feel to it. I have Tungsol 12ax7s in it now. Thinking maybe I should go back to Sovtek? Thanks!

  • I use mine with JJ Power tube and recently try fender for the 5 12ax7. I replace the stock speaker for Celestion vintage 30 and the amp is now really better. My guitar is Stratocaster Vintage Hot Rod 62 reissue. Combining with a Banzai fireball & Keeley Java Boost over the 1st channel, it give me a kind of Joe Bonamassa tone.

  • @riverak100

Totally stock. I didn't touch a thing. If yours had a lag in response, it could be that the tubes were simply getting old.

  • Hey Matt which do you prefer the Venus 6 or Fandango?

  • @destinjohnny

The Fandango is warm and versatile but I own a Venus 6. I prefer it for the in-between tones and the overall glassiness and clarity on both channels.

  • awesome, how much?

  • Actually I'd be more interested in a Knucklehead Reverb head if its channels 1 and 2 are the same as these of the Fandango. Can you answer to this ?

  • This is one of the BEST amp reviews of ever watched. People usually never show enough tone variations. Usually when they show the gain channel it's always set to modern high gain.

The AC/DC tone you showed was GREAT!

    Thanks.

  • My only concern is if it can get a tone like that on Metallcia's Load album.

  • No problem. On channel one, set the controls as such: Volume-10, Bass-10, Middle-5 (with mid scoop pulled out), Treble-6, Master-3(or higher if you want it louder). Also, set your Focus and Presence both on 10.

This will get you that scooped Metallica tone but with more tube warmth like they had on Load. It's a little bit boomier in the lowend than the stuff on Puppets, just like the Load era tone.

  • hey it would be really appreciated if you could do a little more filming about this amps clean tones, in terms of jazz the 10 seconds or so of you playing is good but i really want to hear more of what its capable of?? would be much appreciated :)

  • The Fandango will do the hard rock tones very well. You won't have any problem at all getting sounds like Satch and Petrucci (being able to play like them may be a problem, though). And yes, you can turn on the boosts for channel one and two and switch channels with the footswitch they provide.

  • im going to have my fandango delivered in a couple of days :) i was wondering if i will be able to get a good solo tone like va, satch or petrucci, coz it looks like this amp is for bluesy tones?

can i control the boost with the footswitch provided?
