CO2 doesn't "release" CO2 like man does. "Nature" cycles CO2 through the biosphere of the earth. For the last few thousand years (maybe hundred thousand) the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has stayed about the same - cycling from animals to plants, to oceans, to the atmosphere all in one big cycle.
Industrial releases are adding a huge amount of CO2 to this mix by burning fossil fuels - CO2 that had been sequestered millions of years ago.

I don't think global warming is just a science fiction. One other reason I can point out is. There are many small islands that used to be above the sea level. Not only that they found ruins of entirely new civilizations underwater off shores of eastern Indian coast. If earth was really cooling as PB tony believes we would be seeing islands appearing not disappearing.
The ice caps are not "growing." Last year saw a slight increase over the previous year in area covered, but they are expecting a record melt this summer (and the extent of melting in the summer is far more important than the extent of freezing in the winter).
What people like you also ignore is that this new ice (the refreezing in winter) is young ice - only one year old. That is totally different from the old ice that's been around for a long time (much of which is melting or has melted).
The problem of USA is Huge country with population spread out thin. People do not believe in global warming for a simple reason. The Earth has unique ability to balance itself. If the earth cools there would be more white surface on earth covered by snows and ice, which creates more green house effect and that warms the earth. Warming creates more dark surface on earth by less snow and ice which causes cooling.
I know that a lot of people do not believe in global warming but the Fact is Russians are not very hungry these days. Warmer climate helped Canada and Russia to produce far more crops than 20 years ago. Although I am not 100% certain global warming might be as real as depletion of Ozone layer.(Cow farts has more to do with Ozone than global warming)
So the question becomes how do we live without using fossil fuel instead of how do we use less. Current South Korean president Lee had an idea. Get rid of all the roads and build more subways. That's correct no taxis no buses. Bicycles and skate boards roller blades etc. There are electric trains for public transportation on subways but no gas engines. That's not all. People in South Korea are building green house type Glass structures that covers over their entire house.

We simply ran out of oil like 10 years sooner than we expected. Majority of Americans moved to southern states where they can grow food without harsh winter or illegally cross into Mexico where they still have a government. but starving people who stayed in North America turned into either cannibals or their food.

2 weeks ago friend of mine went to his bank and tried to cash 300$ check. The bank teller let's him know that if he is trying to deposit or cash it here the money will be gone because he is -16,000$. Well that's what he owed on his child support. So the bank payed his child support and he owes the bank and the interests. Well I guess now he can get his drivers license back now he no longer owes the state any money. But still has to pay 16,000$ plus accumulating interest. That's Obama for you.

#2. The reason why China has reduced emission tariffs compared to the US is because the population of China dwarfs the US. Per capita, the US produces more pollution. Also, pollution derived from trade, where a lot of China's pollution comes from isn't included. In other words, the US and the US way of life, is far more polluting than the Chinese.
#3. Russia & Indian emissions meet their quota of 1990 emissions, so there is no penalty.

CO2 doesn't "release" CO2 like man does. "Nature" cycles CO2 through the biosphere of the earth. For the last few thousand years (maybe hundred thousand) the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has stayed about the same - cycling from animals to plants, to oceans, to the atmosphere all in one big cycle.
Industrial releases are adding a huge amount of CO2 to this mix by burning fossil fuels - CO2 that had been sequestered millions of years ago.

From what people told me, Puget sound of seattle washington used to be a lot more polluted than now that people couldn't eat the fish caught here 30 years ago. Effects of air pollution is more global and not as obvious than water pollution. Anyone who took a science class would actually understand the balance and percentages of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
I know this may come as a shock, but scientists know full well the properties of water vapor, and that it's the most powerful greenhouse gas. That has nothing to do with man made global warming. If it wasn't for the GHG properties of the preexisting gases in our atmosphere this planet would be a lifeless hunk of rock.

Like most "goods" Americans are used to getting for cheap (including gas), cow meat is cheap because we externalize the majority of its cost on other people by exploiting them and their natural resources.
To truly make people aware of this exploitation the cost of products that exploit should be increased by whatever means possible. That is justice. That is morality.

As for the cows - they should be taxed. The cattle industry is one of the biggest emitters of GHGs, and not just from flatulents. We shouldn't be eating meat at all, but if people just won't give it up then they should at least have to pay extra for it.

Tantoin and joe402 Earth's axis rotating around the sun is not constant at 23.5 degrees. That's the cause of Global warmings and ice ages. Not only that pole shift is not a theory anymore. Building of ice in the polar regions with force of rotating earth cause the whole outer layer of earth to shift. The evidence of that was recently discovered.

gismotech I would say modern science can only help environment now. There are plans to send large blankets on balloons turning negative charged CFC gas into harmless positive molecules. But like I said before global warming is still a theory to me. I cannot name any islands that disappeared with last 50years. But parangdo South Korea was once surveyed at 4 feet under water became over 5 feet under and that's within last 50 years.

I don't think global warming is just a science fiction. One other reason I can point out is. There are many small islands that used to be above the sea level. Not only that they found ruins of entirely new civilizations underwater off shores of eastern Indian coast. If earth was really cooling as PB tony believes we would be seeing islands appearing not disappearing.

The ice caps are not "growing." Last year saw a slight increase over the previous year in area covered, but they are expecting a record melt this summer (and the extent of melting in the summer is far more important than the extent of freezing in the winter).
What people like you also ignore is that this new ice (the refreezing in winter) is young ice - only one year old. That is totally different from the old ice that's been around for a long time (much of which is melting or has melted).

The problem of USA is Huge country with population spread out thin. That's part of the reason why high speed internet is slow to develop in USA than South Korea.(Main reason was level of demand) when it comes to oil I am afraid that USA is very depended on foreign imports. Another word if oil runs out all the sudden Americans are in trouble. Well maybe not as much as some poor country who still got unexplored oil reserves and how stupid "no nukes".

People do not believe in global warming for a simple reason. The Earth has unique ability to balance itself. If the earth cools there would be more white surface on earth covered by snows and ice, which creates more green house effect and that warms the earth. Warming creates more dark surface on earth by less snow and ice which causes cooling.

I know that a lot of people do not believe in global warming but the Fact is Russians are not very hungry these days. Warmer climate helped Canada and Russia to produce far more crops than 20 years ago. Although I am not 100% certain global warming might be as real as depletion of Ozone layer.(Cow farts has more to do with Ozone than global warming)

So the question becomes how do we live without using fossil fuel instead of how do we use less. Current South Korean president Lee had an idea. Get rid of all the roads and build more subways. That's correct no taxis no buses. Bicycles and skate boards roller blades etc. There are electric trains for public transportation on subways but no gas engines. That's not all. People in South Korea are building green house type Glass structures that covers over their entire house.

The title of SF movie I watched was teeth or tooth. In this fictional scenario, the end of the world happened not because of nuclear war or outbreak of fatal disease. We simply ran out of oil like 10 years sooner than we expected. Majority of Americans moved to southern states where they can grow food without harsh winter or illegally cross into Mexico where they still have a government. but starving people who stayed in North America turned into either cannibals or their food.

North Korea made a deal with Americans and shut down their nuclear reactor in exchange for heavy fuel oil. Americans failed to deliver on their promise during very crucial time causing mass starvation. American economy isn't small. There are no true collapse of economy if you think about it. How many times did Japanese experienced that before? If Japanese economy crash so would the rest of the world. If American economy crash it crashed because of greed of few people. Bank controls the money if there are too much money they raise interest rates to adjust that over flow of money. If nobody has money to spend that's bank who is doing it.

2 weeks ago friend of mine went to his bank and tried to cash 300$ check. The bank teller let's him know that if he is trying to deposit or cash it here the money will be gone because he is -16,000$. Well that's what he owed on his child support. So the bank payed his child support and he owes the bank and the interests. Well I guess now he can get his drivers license back now he no longer owes the state any money. But still has to pay 16,000$ plus accumulating interest. That's Obama for you.
