i have the shrade and i cant fault it at all but then again its suites my type of work it all depends on what u need it for and what u ask of it i cant justify paying 80-150 pound(100-190$) while the one i bought cost 26 pound and does the same if not a better job i'm ex army special oparations aswell so i no my pens.
@GearBuyersGuide Let me know if you would ever liek to do a review on the CUMA RAM Tactical pen, we have two pens designs available. I will also be roaming around SHOT Show next month. Thanks!
Thanks for the series of videos. I was looking at the S&W pen, and this confirmed my choice. There are some other options out there that might be better, but there's no way I'd pay $80 for pen, when the S&W looks just fine for $20.
I think you need to an update for the Hinderer Extreme Duty and Investigator, Tuffwriter, Countycomm Embassy and CRKT Tao. Because those are the ones that interest me... haha
The smith and wesson isn't a good choice in my opinion as the tip is too sharp. It was my carry pen for about a year and it ripped through over 7 jean pockets in that time. I still say the Surefire and UZI tie for first.
Uzi and Tom are good. But I used them very little. The sharp top can hurt when you place your thumb on it. With strong punch, placing your thumb over the top end, it's hurting. Used sharkie in a few home-search missions, and it works very fine. Good vid and thanks for infor.
In my opinion the Sharpie is one of the best "tactical" pens you can get because it doesnt look like something that could be used as a weapon.
Those pens with brands of firearms on them and their sharp tips just scream weapon. It can be a problem when you try to take them into a plane when nobody will look at your sharpie as a weapon.
Also very cheap so its not a big deal if you lose it or break it during a fight.
@JoeDurobot . We have a video here on YouTube testing a Sharpie and they fly apart/pop in half during joint and wristlocks and compliance techniques. I would not reccomend one when you have to use an impact weapon for last ditch self defense, especially if you are law enforcement using them for weapon retention.
Excellent review guy's. Rite in the Rain does have a screw open pen that you guy's should check out and throw into the mix. Instead of the clicker model 97 the screw open style pen is model 96 and is called the tactical black bullet pen NSN - 7520-01-498-2079. Also you must consider that most if not all of the pens you have can be refilled with a fisher space pen cartridge.
Videos 1-7 have now been viewed. Thanks for the insight into tacticool pens.
For me personally, the Surefire is the clear overall winner. But of course there is SF's insane pricing to consider. So I'll be ordering a Rite-in-the-Rain pen (and notepad) for now...

I'm gonna sneak all tactical like into my tactical study and use my tactical pen to write a tactical guide on being tactical.

Probably just grab a WIR pen or the spyderco baliyo not sure yet probably the baliyo b/c balisongs are illegal to posses in public in my state.
Any one know any affordable click pens with fisher ink? for $10 the WIR seems like a steal and I don't need a tactical pen.
Great series GBG

Very nice.
I think I'd like the Uzi … if you could retract the tip. That's a deal breaker for me.

Yup, it would be like 50% better in my eyes if it could do that.. 100% better if it did it well

I carry the military version of the Fischer Space Pen which I think is similar to the Rite-In-The-Rain pen.
