  • I have a logical argument against the the Real ID's validity:

According to DSHS (and I'm summarizing)it's purpose is to create a completely tamper proof ID card. To protect us from bad guys.

This argument is a complete sham and they know it, at least I hope they would know it.

History has shown us time and again that their is no puzzle man can create that man cannot solve, no fortification man can build that man cannot breach.

"Fixed defenses are monuments to the stupidity of man"

    -Patton

  • See how he cunningly justifies the use of Real ID, making it sound harmless. But, in any given action that opens the door to more potentially diabolical force is the one thing he does not address. Consider this from John Adams: ""Be not intimidated... nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out

of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice."

  • Michael Chertoff.... brought to you by Diet Coke.

  • LOL g1

  • Wow, what BS. "We don't track every time you get on an airplane... we don't maintain large databases on people..." Um, that.. was.. the purpose of Real ID... right? One centralized ID number for every citizen so the government can connect all citizen financial accounts, medical records, properties, possessions and memberships. Even the governor of Kentucky proposed that all Internet users be required to submit a Real ID number to websites that offer forum/blog posting to eliminate Anonymity.

  • The State of California during, I believe, the entire span of my life, has held that one can use a psuedonym (which would fit within Chertoff's usage of 'anonymously' and possibly also within 'pretend to be somebody else') any time one likes as long as there is no intent to defraud. Neither anonymity nor psuedonymity is inherently fraudulent, as Chertoff seems mendaciously to imply.

  • hmm..... since when has our government been completely honest about anything lately? including this
