This is NOT the last interview that Skilling gave since the cut line under his face says that he is the COO when in fact he gave many interviews as the CEO which was much later. Although I think the video in itself is ironic. Perhaps we should try out his cut line on himself to see if it makes him stronger.
@OeeOO obviously, rich Americans that are caught with fraud don't go to the prisons with gangs, they go to the jail that is basically a house that you can't go past the gate.
Read Malcolm Gladwell's book 'What The Dog Saw' - it will show you that Enron put everything they were doing out there for people to see; just nobody bothered to look or ask. The jail sentence that man got was not acceptable - rapists, child abusers and murderers get less.
@AHStarWars4Life I will NOT read Mr, Gladwell's book since Enron clearly hid most of the crimes it was doing. They were SO blatant and SO evil that the world would have been horrified by them. Example: Enron sent thugs into Maharastra province to beat up the political opponent of the Dabhol power plant which was to be run by the Trans-Afghan energy pipeline which is being built right now thanks to the US invasion of Afghanistan. ENRON, UNOCAL and BUSH met with the TALIBAN in 1997.
Geniuses don't drive their companies to bankruptcy, steal billions from california residents by a fake power crisis, commit a fraud on stockholders' retirement accounts, and get CAUGHT for it. A genius, albeit an evil one, would get away with it.
It boggles my mind to think anyone could defend these lowlife Enron scumbags.I guess it explains why 80% of Americans are worker bees, and yet, republicans keep getting vote in.Yea I know, the democrats are almost just as bad,but that's the key word, almost.
@bongo7654 not every corporate crook is republican. A lot of business leaders who create jobs and give lower income people who want to work a little dignity are also republicans. Trapping the lower class into a welfare system where the only incentive is to not better yourself or your cut off is the liberal way. telling a lower income person that the only way you can make it is to tax people who have made it is not helping anyone. Republicans want everyone to strive to better themselves. wake up
george fucking republican bush let it all happen wow and its all about to happen again to regulate or not, mmm bush well and truely stacked it in lay,s way,,, gee wizzzz george scumbucket dose,nt mention anything of this in its latest book strange! some memories are to profitable to remember mmm go the republicans, less goverment, less regulation, only regulation that favor big corp,s
It was very troubling to watch "The smartest men in the room" and to see how connected The Bush family was connected to Enron and Key Lay. More troubling was the Bush administration's reaction to the California energy crisis caused by Enron. Bush put politics ahead of the welfare of millions of Californians. The only good thing I got from watching the documentary was that I think it revealed the true hearts of bought and paid for politicians and more directly the Republicans.
@gopconservative78 He didn't work there when his company imploded. Can you imagine if you were arrested 6 months after you lost your job because Taco Bell poisoned someone? I think it is BS that he is in jail and I am a liberal. Some GOP Conservative you are.
@johntetzel LOL how FDUMB are you so wait a sec you are saying that it is not his fault? oh no not at all... he just Saw what was happening in advance and left... johnetzel - i really do feel sorry for your lack of understanding Ken Lay, Jeff Skilling, Fastow, Pai, Belden - they were ALL in on it they just tried to keep a sinking ship going for as long as they could and no , icant imagine making in the tune of 40 MILLION dollars and then BAM! all of a sudden my company goes bust..? i wonder y?
@johntetzel The crimes of ENRON began in 1985 when Ken Lay took over and it almost immediately began to spiral down from there. Before Lay, Enron was a cash cow that continued to offset Lay's mismanagement and business blunders for fifteen years. Skilling came from the failed bank, First City Bancorp and was a criminal from the outset. This is what Lay saw in him from the beginning.
Fraud doesn't matter then? I'll sell you a house with a sinking foundation that I know about an you don't . So when your home sinks into oblivion you can't come after me because I left the real estate company I worked for. If that's ok with you then I'll send the mortgage papers for you to sign tonight. BTW, I am resigning from my real estate company tomorrow.
hopefully romeny is put up, he will take the tax burden off the middle class and not these assholes
