Simple way that works on just about any game (On windows)

Go to task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del)

There to processes, then find the game in there.

Then right click and set priority (To above normal OR high, never put realtime)

-dxlevel 80 +mat_antialias 0 reduces lag fairly well... i use it and i LOVE it! when i downloaded my first game on steam, i was thinking "this f*cking sucks... laggy as hell...", but then i typed '-dxlevel 80 +mat_antialias 0' in it (without the '' for idiots) and it sped it up a lot. i feel like i can play any game i want (that's on steam of course) without a signle lag issue... and usually, i can! hope this helps if the video didn't. happy day after thanksgiving! @PootisGuy123 Lag can mean two things. Internet issues, Framerate problems. If you have a low framerate, chances are your computer is not up to snuff. Try downloading your latest drivers, and lowering your graphics settings. Also, there is a program called GameBooster. Its free, and it releases RAM, so you have more dedicated to running your game.

To whoever asked if this will improve graphics, it will not. It may boost your framerate slightly, but definitely not by 2x. This may give you a 3% to 5% increase in framerate at the most. It will however help to get rid of stuttering and stuff like that.

This is really useful for dual-cores. My e8400 acts weird when games are on normal.

I added a run with high priority command to my context menu.

This doesn't affect graphics. It makes windows focus more on processing the game.
