Is that thing running on mains electricity? I certainly hope not because you really could electrocute yourself by doing that, you'd best run the tape recorder on batteries. My school had Panasonic tape recorders like that one, they had different speaker grills though, the record button was in the same place on the play button.
checked out casperelectronics D O T c o m yet? the barbie karaoke machines might lead to some more bends on this one? tape speed and such...i know this is old...
