I've got the same guitar but I had the neck pickup changed. The pan pickup is almost a complete waste of time (wayyyy too much treble). Nice playing btw. Open tuning?
I have one myself the action good for slide and normal playing, it sounds great acoustic wise(pretty loud to a degree), the piezo pickup inside the resonator chamber gives a glassy tone, and the mini humbucker sounds great clean, and it roars with over drive. my only complaint is that i have to re tune it once a week (but that could be the strings) but over all it's a good dobro/ electric hybrid for those of use who don't have money for a national
does it have the resonatoresqe sound when pluged in or can you play it through an amp and get the sound of a normal electric? ive been looking at these gutiars as well.
when plugged in on clean the perfect blend between the amps gives a good resonator tone, the humbuckler by itself will give you a good electric sound overall it;s good for the people who can't afford a national resolectric
im running a laptop with windows vista64bit and 4 gigs of ram, is the emu 0404 going to work good with my computer? is the latency good in the emu? im going to be recording vocals so i need the latency to be low! help anyone???
You'll need a mic cable. You can pick one up that'll support XLR to 1/4 inch, and then use an adapter to convert the 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch, but I'm not sure how well that'll work honestly. You're better off picking up a USB external soundcard/preamp that supports XLR, and then just using a full XLR cable.
@invertedpanda Actually, that method of recording wouldn't work because you still need to power the SP1 with phantom power. You're right. It's better to get a USB interface with phantom power to record using this mic.
On a side note, have you heard about people modifying the SP1? I know they are great mics, but can be amazing when 'modded'.
I have one of these (but with tobacco sunburst finish). The sound he's getting in this video is just from micing the dobro cone. The acoustic pickup doesn't give a convincing dobro sound at all IMO. The electric pickup sounds nice; since the guitar has a 25.5 scale length, it sounds a bit like a Gibson but a little more Fender-y. The acoustic pickup sounds very bright and a little brittle.

Hey can someone answer me this one question????
What do you need to record something into the computer with a mic??
Cuz, im getting this specific mic 'MCA SP-1' for christmas and does it have a wire attached to it to plug into the computer or anything????
Or do i have to buy some other stuff with it too?

people who do this kind of thing are idiots
first, why would you wanna annoy people with this who are just trying to watch a video?
second, what the hell does kissing have to do with holding your breath while coppying some text..
thus, you, and all others who spam crap like this, are retarded
as for this video, i like it a lot :) same goes for most of your other vids
